If we are going to lose, why not lose with Pearl. Who cares if he gets in trouble with the NCAA again, whats the worst that can happen............we start losing again. Its just basketball, who cares.

Bruce Pearl is an IDIOT! Never supported him, never will.....he's the Lane Kiffin of basketball and I sure as hell don't want Lane back. Ask those assistant coaches if they'd work for Bruce again, I bet you'd get a big HELL NO. Move on my friend.

I've said nothing that hasn't been endorsed by numerous posters over the past year and was echoed again after the loss to AP. It's time that Pearlites are given their rightful place in the Tommy Bowl.

Obviously this is a troll thread. I just found it maddening reading the irrational posts by dumbasses on this board over the past few weeks that pretend like we had an option besides firing Pearl. If that's your thought, then I feel sorry for the people that are effected by decisions you have to make in real life. I also got tired of seeing people that act like CM is destined to fail after 8 games. He might very well be Buzz 2.0, but why not wait and judge him until later in the season. With that said, carry on Vol Nation.

All I know is that Bruce made a big splash when he came to UT. So far, Cuonzo has made nothing but a thud.

I agree. Those fools who want him fired after 8 games are as foolish as the ones that pretend that Pearls entire tenure doesn't exist because of the mistake that got him fired. There are too many extremist points of view on this board in favor of one or the other. If people stepped back and looked at both situations objectively, they would realize that Pearl was not a saint, but he did do some unprecedented things for the collective good as well. Martin is not an utter failure yet after 8 games, though I think after 8 games, he has shown that his defensive philosophy needs some tweaking to adjust to the players he was left with.

Is Pearl selling cigarettes now? This is a true story, I went into a store in Tullahoma the other day and a dude who looked like Pearl was coming out with another dude. I double-taked and sure enough it was Pearl, I yelled "Bruce". He waved at us and got in the car. I proceeded to enter the store and asked the lady behind the counter what was up, and she said pearl was doing a little publicity with tobacco reps and were going store to store signing autographs and taking pics. Just thought i'd throw that out there to the VN .

Then thank you for finally injecting some semblance of rationality and realism into your meandering sarcasm. :) Pearl had to be fired. I'm totally willing to ride this out until CCM proves he can't coach when we actually have a team capable of winning on a consistent basis.

The best basketball I've seen at UT was during the King-Grunfeld years, and it's not even close. That isn't in your six year span is it? Obviously, you know nothing about UT's history to make such an ignorant comment. Then again, you probably aren't really a UT basketball fan, but a Pearl fan. There's a difference. Fans like me don't ride in the same wagon with the band.
