Bruce Pearl In Three Years

The best basketball I've seen at UT was during the King-Grunfeld years, and it's not even close. That isn't in your six year span is it? Obviously, you know nothing about UT's history to make such an ignorant comment. Then again, you probably aren't really a UT basketball fan, but a Pearl fan. There's a difference. Fans like me don't ride in the same wagon with the band.

I was a fan twenty years before the Ernie and bernie show came to town. The most wins they had in a season
is on par with Pearl's yearly average.

I'm sure he'll be able to get amazing deals on truckloads of cereal and barrels of pickles! Maybe we should put him in charge of the concessions until his triumphant return!

Exactly! Someone finally gets it!! Who gives two craps about winning or post-season bans or anything of that stuff!!

Exactly,
Your sarcasm has turned into reality. Again, its basketball, who really cares. As long as we keep our football program clean most could care less how we do it in basketball, just win somehow.

This is by far the best picture of Bruce. Count my vote!

Cheating in basketball will eventually fall back on the AD, who reigns over all sports, including football. Negative publicity in any sport is bad for the entire athletic department. Perception is all too often reality. If the perception is that our basketball team is cheating, the assumption all too often is that cheating runs rampant in our entire athletic department. If the AD loses his job, the instability could spell trouble for all sports, including football.

Bottom line, don't cheat. It's really simple.

You love Pearl and think that Martin sucks. Thanks for the wisdom.

A lot of people like Pearl. There is a good chance Martin sucks.

I know you're being "funny," but what you've sarcastically labeled as "wisdom" has quite a bit of truth.

*Disclaimer: I don't have a crystal ball, just a magic 8 ball. I don't claim to know that Martin will suck, but "outlook not so good."*

Bruce Pearl is an IDIOT! Never supported him, never will.....he's the Lane Kiffin of basketball and I sure as hell don't want Lane back. Ask those assistant coaches if they'd work for Bruce again, I bet you'd get a big HELL NO. Move on my friend.

You know it is kind of funny that Pearl got busted after Kiffin left. Guess Kiffin didnt teach him everything. :eek:lol:

Do y'all think Stokes will still be here so the Bruce can coach him up to the NBA like he did all those other players?

Still, the Bernie-Ernie teams were better than any of Pearl's. In Pearl's era, more games were played and 64, rather than 32 teams got NCAA bids. Under the same circumstances, Pearl would have had two teams qualify for the NCAA tournament

Using a skewed statistic to try and make your point makes you look foolish. Of course, I was already aware of that fact when you mentioned the last six years were the only years UT basketball was relevant.

You sure don't sound like someone in their late sixties to early seventies, but then again, I think your first comment is an outright lie

While I agree the teams from the 70's faced a tougher road to 25 wins and to the NCAA tournament, one could argue that it is foolish to compare teams from two different eras thirty years removed from each other because so many variables have changed in that time. Why can't we all just agree that both eras were highly successful by UT's basketball standards without denigrating the other era in attempts to make irrelevant comparisons?

There are many coaches better than Pearl. It's not even worth discussing whether or not he comes back to UT, because he never will. Anyone who wants to bend over for Pearl should find somewhere else to do it. He is in no way currently associated with the University of Tennessee basketball program, so stop acting like he is.

Mears had 15 years coaching here and made three tournaments. Granted the field was smaller, but, I just don't remember any #2 seeds or but one sweet sixteen.
I also don't recall any thirty win seasons or # 1 rankings.
I have a fond regard for Mears, but, he was not the best we had for coach.

yeah, like lose his team over what happened and then get blown out by 38 points in the ncaa tournament last year. total disappointment. he was a crook then, and always will be. don't get me started on what he did toput u t basketball where it is now. coach martin took over a train wreck.

Yeah, we were such a powerhouse before Bruce Pearl got here. It is a shame what he put our program through. :banghead2:

man you should look at someone page before making that kind of statement. I was there when the Earnie and Bernie show went down. I also remember when Bernie got caught stealing a TV. Coach Pearl compared quite favorably with Ray Mears. Obviously your history is as lacking as your manners are.
