oh lord, here we go...true the game sucked and tennessee played wretched, meeks had an outstanding game, we played horrible D, cant shoot the 3...all true. but, what ive been saying all year is this...this team will play its best ball at the end of the year instead of now. Last year's team peaked in mid season then fell off pretty badly. I expect this team to get better and better with some bumps along the way. we are too young and way too skinny. we will develop.

The teams with the best guards will win in March. They always do. It doesn't look too likely that will be UT.

I'll explain without Bruce. We need some pure shooters on the team, first order of business, not street ballers.

Has anyone taken into consideration that this is a young team with no outside shooters and factor in that Bruce may be is a little upset that CLK is getting all this money and Bruce did not? I am sure it is in the back of his mind that when he was hired he was told he would have to earn a raise and CLK came in with more money with a lesser coaching record.

Bruce is paid well for a coach who has never been past the Sweet 16.

But your assessment of the team is spot on. I bet Bruce won't let us go through another season without a 3 point shooter. We are easy to defend, everybody just clogs the lane.

and if they do they better hope it's in Europe cause they both will ride the pine on a NBA developmental league team sorry but they are not that good

Dumb. Euro league >>>>>>>> NBDL. Not to mention both Wayne and Tyler will be in the NBA

Which players do we have that are "street ballers"? By that statement I would think you would mean guys that drive to the hoop and dunk. I haven't seen much of that. I see a bunch of guys shooting 3's and missing that should be using there athletic ability and height to drive or post up.

I think that the team is having 3 major problems.........
one is injuries......the injury to Tyler and Prince is killing us, we need them to be 100%........the second problem is soft defensive and overall play by Hopson, Woolridge, and Tatum...........the third is guard penetration and dishing.........I'm not seeing enough assists from the guards........

Think of all the players Pearl has lost due to transfers, injuries, grades, and problem-children in his short 3.5 year stint so far:

Major Wingate, Marquis dude, Ramar Smith, Duke Crews, Ryan Childress, Daniel West

I think Pearl should play more zones, and make the other team shoot perimeter shots over his tall guards.......his man to man defense is getting shreaded bc/ those tall guys are not quick enough.........

hey anyone in this thread care for a friendly wager on NIT vs NCAA?

BEcause I have basically zero doubt that we will be in the big tournament and not the NIT this year.

I'm assuming 'no' will be the response, since it appears most just like playing chicken little.

Look guys, the long and short of it is we need a point guard and a floor leader! Lofton was the leader and after he left, no one stepped up. You can blame CBP all you want, but facts are facts. Besides, who are we to complain about NIT vs. NCAA? It wasn't all that long ago we would have been happy to make either! Young team and no PG means some losses this year, but no reason to hit the panic button yet.

Until this "team" learns to play as a team and how to play defense they are going to continue to get thier hats handed to them. They make the big dance, barely, but it's probably a one and done unless they make major improvement and quickly.

that dude, had a good game. it was luck. i don't care what people say. it was just his night. he doesn't do it at ky against us. without that guy, we kill them. i'm not going to give up on this team, we just have too many freshmen. but it's so obvious, we have a bunch of loser jerks on here that bitch at the slightest adversity. man boys and stop your whining. we'll get better. that means you VOLSnTITANS

And this is the team that was supposed to dominate the SEC this season?!!! :mf_surrender:

These boys couldn't even dominate lowly Georgia and are well on their way to going 0 - 2 against KY. Is there ANYTHING coming in next year that might help our porous defense? :bad:

so should we fire bp??? tennessee stud, since you're the expert on basketball, should we fire him? i mean we have mostly freshmen playing in the SEC. give us your wonderful wisdom oh mighty blowhard.

After the Zags game, I said that I thought we'd be fine. Well, beating a crappy Georgia team, and getting smashed by Kentucky in our home, haven't done much to tell me that my opinion was any good in the 1st place. Yes, Meeks had a once in a lifetime game, but even so, we got dominated. Kentucky didn't turn it over as much as we needed them too, and our half court sets were atrocious to put it mildly. I love Bruce, but he's gonna need to make some adjustments if we're going to win, or even compete for the SEC Championship.

Six opposing players with career highs against UT this season....nuff said.

On the bright side...I do not have to listen to Bert say money that much...btw Burt that was money you witnessed last night.

I do find it entertaining to watch Tabb and Prince pass the ball back and forth with some 3 fakes added in.

Nobody drops a single game record for points at UK many times. If ever.
