He's a great coach who will wind up doing well at a major program. But, yeah, Auburn cannot hire him on the heels of the Harsin disaster.

He deserves a promotion. I don't think any well established coach will be eager beaver to take the job right now.

I can't see Yella Hoss approving of Auburn hiring Deion.

A lot of people in the media are trying to force this fit. I don't think the people at AU give a darn what the rest of us think. They'll hire whoever they think can recruit and win.

We all know that things change, but Coach Lanning's response to these rumors is on Oregonlive. Basically, he said the last thing he wants to do is leave Oregon.

One of his comments was pretty funny. He said we all know how the last coaches to leave Oregon have done at other universities.

Agree, and he seems to like it here. He's got some big tests coming up for the rest of the season!! Washington this weekend, Utah and OSU to finish the season. Plus, hopefully a PAC championship game.

His comments sound like he's interested in building a "home" for his family, not a stepping stone to another job and moving his family again. He's got an 11 year old daughter and I think he'd like some continuity in her life rather than another move and having to make friends again.
