Hey, I am just bored and having fun with you.. I did give props on brown earlier
I am being honest, in the same way you can't wait to Miles fall because you don't think he can coach, I feel the same way about your coach...
I think that if someone were being brutally honest with you - most think that LSU wins in
spite of Miles, and certainly, not because of him - and that LSU will always be somewhat limited as long as he is there.
Right now, he wins with having more talent than others - but he isn't a very good, and some would go so far as to say he isn't even a
competent "X's and O's" coach. That's just the reality of it - but even then, I don't think that it's a personal dig at the guy. We had a similiar coach here for 16 years, so we know how to spot it from a mile away. We had many wonderful memories because of him - but eventually, talent has to be coached and developed, and when it isn't, the ruse is quickly up and its over. Watch and see. There were a lot of people around here who thought our 2005 (losing) season was a fluke, too.
If given completely equal talent at a neutral site - which SEC coaches do you think that Miles would out coach - Richt? Saban? Meyer? Spurrier? Who? In all honesty, I wouldn't take him over Rich Brooks or Bobby Johnson given those equal conditions, and whether you admit it or not, most others wouldn't, either. That's not a personal dig on the guy - just a reality.
I am sure that he's seen differently down in Red Stick, but at this early stage in the game, no one wants to believe or hear it. I understand, I really do. There are some here who still don't think that CPF should have been fired, if that tells you anything. If I remember correctly, and which I guess LSU fans have forgotten since he won one - weren't there repeated calls for his job in the years before the title (with Saban's players)? Do you think that he's a markedly better coach now, than he was then? I don't. He'll soon return to sub-par form, I assure you.
You can think he's a great recruiter, leader or whatever else you want to believe - but you shouldn't believe that he's a great, or even a "good" coach. You certainly shouldn't be dismayed that others would fail to share such delusional thinking.
