Bryce Brown Announcement

If you visit the LSU board, you can see that BB's really not that good anyway and, surprise, they didnt pursue him after his visit

I got to hand it to this kid it looked like he didn't have alot of support for this decision. After his announcement he took a few questions and afterwards there were no family hugs, photos or any of the things you would normally see. Maybe I'm reading to much into their body language but that coupled with his mention of fighting with his mother I have to think he had to fight for this. He started off by saying this wasn't the original plan but something came up and the plan had to be changed. I'm guessing he was referring to meeting Lacey...... and we thought Judy Jackson used to be a great recruiter?

On the contrary. He was very supported by his family. We were down there and his brother and him were talking to us...they are very happy for bryce. They just simply wanted him to make the right decision...they are a very soft spoken family and very chill. and lacey had nothing to do with it...

If points like that were moot, I would think that the school that got Brown wouldn't dedicate entire threads to what other teams are saying.

The sour grapes thread was not dedicated to Bryce's omission that he would've loved to go to Oregon - it was simply a way of seeing what certain Oregon fans were saying after the commitment. Granted, using an internet message board to gauge an entire fan base is obviously questionable, but some of your fellow Duck fans provided us with some gems.

Also, my understanding was that they were going to relocate depending on where Bryce went. So, maybe they're going to look for somewhere that makes it easier to go to both schools events.

Did Bryce (or another member of his family) mention this somewhere? Unless you can prove it, saying something like "my understanding was that such and such was true" is mere speculation.

Does anyone believe that Bryce really didn't like Tennessee after his first visit?

This doesn't make sense to me. If you don't like a place after you visit...why come back?

Ya, getting a recruit to visit again on his own dime after not liking his first visit says A LOT.

Also, did VSPN ever post a recap of his info?

and he's now moved up the food chain to the point his screen name is his real name, Kevin Scott

Google is your friend:

"If I go to Miami all my family is going to be in the same place because my family is moving there if I go there," he said. "If I go elsewhere they're going to move to Texas."

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Brown is quick to slow down

I accept your apology.

wheaton you are the cockiest loser i have ever come across in all of my years...you come on here to the board of the team that just landed the recruit that you coveted and try to say that he really wanted to go to your school and that your stadium is the loudest and pull up quotes from months ago that have absolutely no bearing on the fact that we have brown and you will have to face him in 2010. now that the brown sweepstakes is over you have no purpose being here, if you had gotten him maybe i would understand coming on here to gloat...but you didn't get him and are still on here gloating. as my grandma always say's "denial aint just a river in egypt."

From Oregon Live. com

In the Brown sweepstakes, which stretched for more than a month after the Feb.4 signing day, Brown chose Tennessee over Kansas State. He said Oregon finished third on his list.
Brown called the Ducks' offense "nice and flashy" but preferred Lane Kiffin's offense over Oregon's spread-option, even though the Ducks were second in the nation in rushing last season.

"I just didn't think (Oregon) would prepare me enough for the NFL," Brown told Wichita Sports Radio 1410KGSO after his announcement. "I'm thinking long term, I'm thinking next level already."

Hmmm, no mention of his parents or him liking Oregon so much. I remember talking to some Cal fans who came out to Neyland for the season opener a couple of years ago, and they said that our stadium and crowd made Autzen seem like a church service. Oregon's fans (all 40,000 of them) are loud for a small place and are on top of the field. It just is not in the same discussion as Neyland, or the Swamp, or Death Valley. More like Vandy on steroids.

No. Just for this evening. Too many people here that want me to stick around.

I hope that you will hang around. I also hope that you plan on visiting us in Knoxville when y'all come. :hi:

On a side note; what are your thoughts on the PAC 10 hanging all of their hats on the laurels of 1 team, USC with 1 BCS championship; while 3 different SEC teams (UT, FL, and LSU) have accounted for 5 BCS championships.

PS: The next closest conference is the Big 12 with 2 different teams and 2 BSC Championships.

You forgot one other SEC team that won a BCS championship. For shame.

Translation: He wants to go to a school that is going to prepare him for the NFL.

I get that, but I don't like that he is thinking about that already. He hasn't even stepped foot on campus or played a down for UT. Think about UT for a two years and then think of the NFL.

Maurice Clarett was thinking about the NFL before he went to OSU and look how that turned out.
