Is anyone else looking at OC's announcement as a sign of what BB's going to do? What I'm saying is if OC picks UT, then perhaps BB is a sure thing. I know it is reaching but something I have been wondering about for awhile.

It really seems like Charles is going to be announcing UGA tomorrow, unfortunately....what is their connection, though? I know that Oku and BB are both in Butler's organization....but what about BB and Charles?

Charles is from Monte's town (Tampa) while Butler's organization is mostly (all?) Kansas players.

Some say the Vols have gone cold on Oku, but not the other two. :dunno:

I'm still hoping for a trifecta.

I know I am reaching on my theory, and let me make it clear, I KNOW NOTHING. I just thought that I had read somewhere on these boards amongst this mountain of info that the two had formed some sort of relationship. Anyhow, my X-Files type theory is this:

BB has told OC that if he chooses UT, he will follow. OC makes is choice in a little more than 24 hours(am I right on this?) Perhaps, the coaching staff already has the LOI in hand but is waiting for OC's presser to break the news. Hence, all the rumors of BB being a lock swirling around today.

Jesus, why can't these guys just decide and get this over with? I have put way to much time and thought into all of this.

It was the comments and opinions circulating about 1.5 weeks ago that convinced me not to get my hopes up. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong and happy. But, you can generally get feelings, and this feeling isn't a good one.

and to add to the theories... maybe we've gone cold on Oku because we already have something solid from Brown...???

Please recall a thread from early in December, entitled, "Who are the EF Huttons on VN?".

I went back through the thread and identified those members most frequently mentioned as being credible sources of "inside" information with the program. They were (in no particular order):

  • HatVol96
  • Justin Groves
  • Volin Arizona
  • HVWarrior58
  • LexVol
  • Orange + White = Heaven
  • VolFreak
  • GAVol
  • BigPaPaVol
Within the last 24-48 hours, two (2) of those nine (9) members have publicly expressed that newly learned information has lead them to believe that BB is going to be a Vol on the 16th.

From HVWarrior58:
"Barring some very drastic fallout, come March 16, Bryce Brown will be wearing orange. Take it to the house."

From LexVol:
"I'm hearing that BB will be a Vol from all the right people. I say book it." He later better clarified his comments to say, "I feel as confident as I can about a recruit. I've just always wanted to say book it on the VN. We all know anything can happen. If I had to put a percentage soley based on the source I'd say 100%."

TOS has had some seemingly reliable posters who also claim that it looks equally promising that Brown comes to The Hill on the 16th - one in particular (FLAVol53) states that he had sources in Kansas confirm it.

Please offer any additional creddible source(s) and their Brown comments which I might have inadvertantly failed to list here.

I think that the majority of people are seriously, seriously conflicted.

While we find it difficult (bordering on impossible) to allow ourselves to believe that its a "done" deal for the simple fact that we don't want to be crushed if he signs elsewhere, and our hope is proven false (and are crushed).

Conversely, we find it equally difficult (again, nearly impossible) to simply disregard the statements of those members with such a well-established and proven track record or providing credible "inside" information.

Not me, I "officially" believe that these guys are right and that it's a done deal.

As this information is coming from several independent and highly credible sources, is now being listed in different forums, and all (seemingly) pointing to some new event which has either occurred or they have only very recently learned about within the last 24-72 hours, it's all now too far beyond mere coincidence, at least in my mind.

There is simply too much smoke which has erupted too quickly and occurred too closely together for there not to be a fire - even for the most prudent / pessimistic amongst us.

With that, I wonder if the better question is not if he will sign his LOI on the 16th, but whether or not he has actually already done so (ala Nukeese)?

In fact, can any of you confirm or deny that his LOI has already been signed and sealed? Of course, there would be no need for it to have then been "delivered", in the traditional sense of the word, if sources are to be believed.

Not at all. Any shots I have taken are directed at individual behavior. I'm meeting some cool folks over here.

As far as Brown slipping away. Why would I feel that? The last things he has said about Oregon are, by my estimation, the highest praise he has given any program to date. He has praised other schools since. But, nothing that I would say changes anything.

The rumors about him being a UT lock. They could be true. But, there are rumors like that on every schools board. A person can see first hand on these boards how one piece of information gets turned into something else just in two forum pages. So, I don't really factor any forum rumors in unless they are substantiated.

We're going by buzz meters now? :)

Wheaton, Bryce may think about the Ducks when he goes to sleep at night, but when he wakes up he's ready to suit up for the Volunteers.

Face it. That's all you have. One comment and the fact that he likes Chip Kelly. There is obviously something that kept him from signing with the Ducks on Signing Day. That same thing will keep him from signing with them for the long haul. I think Bryce realizes that UT is his best shot at making it as a high draft pick in the NFL.

I think the one thing that would make the lock concrete would be a post from Posivol ranting about how much BB sucks and is a headcase or something. Then, without a doubt, BB is a Vol.:p

Dang, nice stuff man.

And I repeat...not to be a negative Nancy (as my mom said)...but after this summer with all the signings we HAD in Atlanta...I refuse to be optimistic until the 16th. That being said...if we sign OC tomorrow...I WILL begin to feel a little better about our chances.

Just wanted to say that your analysis on all matters is usually gold, and I appreciate your posts.

Don't go anywhere anytime soon.

Did it say that bb would announce on the 16th or sign? If it is announce, makes you wonder if clk has a signed loi?

As I stated earlier all signs point to the fact that clk and crew had him sign on his trip. He also went on this trip alone. I am a family member of a previous elite 11 qb, and have seen this happen to a few kids. I also think that he might be hidding it from his family. IMO

Also, I think everyone would be best to not put too much emotion into this until the 16th.

Nu'keese was a Florida "lock" and we know what happened there. A relevant term to describe this recruiting year is "unprecedented", and that goes both ways.

Not trying to be negative but if the worst did happen, it would literally be devastating, so just be prepared.

GO VOLS!!!
