While I'm confident Kiffin and Company can turn the program around either way, BB is the type of player who can really accelerate the schedule and tilt the odds more strongly in our favor.

In all seriousness, there was an event/idea presented that made Bryce seriously reconsider Miami. Unfortunately, some of the conversations that have taken place were in a nature where he felt like I wasn't going to repeat it, so I'm not getting into it until after he announces.

But yes, there was something. No, it didn't eliminate Miami, but yes, it didn't just open the door for UT, it kicked it open.

This is a little off topic. But. I had a lengthy conversation with two compliance officers from two different schools about this.

The problem right now is that ALL big time recruits are getting blistered with messages on FB that technically are illegal. However, this is a little like text messages were at first, being that there's no clear rule they can fall back on.

Unfortunately, they can't tell recruits they can't have a page. They can't prove who they did or didn't know beforehand. And they can't prove, without a doubt, the identity of the person who posts the message on the page.

I would say you'll see the NCAA, at some point release some type of memo regarding FB and Myspace, but it won't ever amount to anything. The COs I talked to believed that as long as it was limited to FB and nothing more, it would never cause a school or the recruits any kind of punishment.

I guess I wouldn't have as big of problem with it as long as they kept it somewhat classy. I don't think that divorcing your hostesses from a school you do an official visit with and things like that are very respectful and can lead to other thoughts entering in. Whether or not they ever rule on it is one thing, but if someone was smart they would start a FB or MS type site just for athletes and have mods assigned to each one to make sure that compliance was happening. I guess that would be my suggestion.
