its also worth noting that BB's father went with him and that is the first time thats happened. It cant be good that he asked his dad to go with him there and not on any other visit.

there is a knowledgeable guy on another board that points out Marlon Brown's grandmother went everywhere but Tennessee and Aubry Phillips parents went with him to FSU, but not Tennessee. Those didnt work out well for us at all.

Didn't Bryce's father mainly go along because of the traveling situation?

my understanding is that Bryce asked his dad to come on this one

Just a quick observation: Did Butler accompany Brown on prior visits? Also, did Butler accompany him to LSU?

I simply point this out because I'm sure Brown likes having at least one adult with him on all of his visits, whether it's Butler or his father. With the family recently stepping in, perhaps Brown asked his father to accompany him since Butler was left out.

If he were to decided right now, it would be LSU. Waiting for two more weeks will allow him to put it all in to perspective.

LSU 34%
Oregon 33%
Tennessee 33%

butler went on the trip for sure. i was listening on rivals, an interview between brian butler and some LSU radio host. Butler was like packing up to go. He blamed his last 50 pounds on the arthur brown jr. visit to lsu

If we don't get Bryce, then life goes on. To be in the running this late says alot about what high profile players think about this program. We will be in the running for another "blue chipper" we just have to be patient.

I'm not trying to be doom and gloom, but you also can't get your hopes up to high either. I believe that it's a toss up right now and he could go anywhere, but who knows.

My gut says that he ends up at UT though. I really believe that.

At this point it seems that LSU, UT, and Oregon are the major players, with Miami and Kansas State having slim but nonzero chances. I think we'll hear BB start to favor one of these in his comments leading up to his commit date. The real question is what factor(s) will sway him?

LSU: established head coach and offensive system, good RB coach (Porter) with recent history of putting backs in the NFL, good surrounding talent at QB, OL, and WR
UT: playing time, good RB coach (Gran) with recent history of putting backs in the NFL, long-standing football tradition and history of putting backs in the NFL
Oregon: playing time, established head coach and offensive system, good RB coach (Campbell) with a recent history of putting backs in the NFL
Miami: playing w/ his brother, history of putting backs in the NFL
Kansas St: playing time, close to home

Since his dad attended the LSU visit with him and they have a lot of positives, they scare me the most. But he would be competing with a stud in Scott and a five star talent in Keiland Williams, not to mention Murphy, Holliday, and the two 2009 RB recruits. So I like our chances right now but watch out for Oregon too (stacks up similarly to UT on paper). Once BB has had a few days to sit back and think about his most recent visits, we should turn up the sensitivity on which programs he is talking about and what his is saying about them. I can't see him getting all the way to the 16th without tipping his hand, at least a little. I say 33% UT, 30% LSU, 30% Oregon, 5% Miami, and 2% Kansas St.

I like your reasoning here.

Hey! Here's a funny Facebook page that Oregon fans have started for Bryce Brown, aptly entitled, "Bring Bryce Brown to Oregon". The page urges others to, "..show that Duck Fans are the most best and most knowledgeable fans in the nation!". Also, please note that their office is listed as being "U of O"

Bring Bryce Brown To Oregon | Facebook

Even funnier, here's an article from the Washington Post which spells out that such activity, while poorly monitored, is a clear-cut violation of NCAA bylaws:

Fans' Recruiting Pitches Are Catching On - washingtonpost.com

Further, here is a direct quote which many of you might find interesting,

"If a school found out this was going on, it would have to self-report it," Osburn said. "The NCAA then would look at the situation within reason." (emphasis mine)

If you'd like to bring this obviously illegal site to the attention of the Oregon Ducks Athletic Department, please use the following links, provided for your convenience:

As a side note, please also see the following article which details that the Ducks program self-reported some TEN (10) secondary recruiting violations which committed in a TWO (2) year span (2005-2006).

I guess Kiffin's three (3) secondaries wouldn't have received this much attention in Eugene, where they are noted scofflaws of NCAA Regulations.

His heart may be with oregon but his brain (and pops) will point him at UT in the end IMO.

In the end the UT coaching staff might be too hard to say no to...I mean coach Kiffin has told him he's the guy we want to build our offense around...What kid doesn't want to hear that?...I guess We will find out in two weeks...The tension grows

A little birdie just told me that Brown has added even more Tennessee players to his "friends" list this morning.

Rico McCoy
D-Mo
Daniel Lincoln
Zach Rogers

Not an LSU / Miami player in sight that I could tell.

Oh yeah, he also put this other dude on his "friends" list earlier today, maybe you guys have heard of him?

Orson Charles

Hmmmmm. I wonder how those guys hooked up?

An even better question: Why?

Interesting.

Seems like he has really connected with the UT people. Could very well end up being the deciding factor for him.

Or maybe its just that CLK told all the players to friend him on Facebook and bug him about UT.

the fight at the bar was not a fabrication by bama fans rex. My friend who goes to LSU was texting me about Bryce brown the whole time he was there at their bar bogie's, and said his brother or friend got into it with a LSU student. It wasnt a brawl or anything but I think there was some shoving.

Usually I wouldn't put much weight into who Bryce Brown befriends on facebook, but if Orson Charles commits to us on the 6th, then I would have to say this statement would hold a lot of ground.

A lot.

Volquest isn't a little birdie telling you.

I didn't get it off of VQ message board. If so, I would have offered the following caveats when describing said birdie, "a completely unreliable drunken and likely retarded birdie told me."

I got it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

That's all I am saying.

Stop it, I'm getting excited here :pepper: Let's hope that is a good sign..Damn, Him and Charles would be a blockbuster!
