I just pray someday we can land another BB that actually wants to be here for Tennessee and makes some rushing records crumble.

It is simply asking too much to expect someone to honor a commitment any more. I have to think in the long run it cost him. Big difference in up-front contract dollars between the 7th round and if he'd lived up to his potential and gone in the 1st or 2nd.

Yeah because that's what I meant by bust. He was the number 1 recruit in the nation and was at Tennessee for one season. What did he have, 200 yards in his career? He was a bust at Tennessee which is clearly what I meant.

Dude had over 400 rushing yards and 100 receiving yds. That's not bad for a true freshman backing up a 1200 yd rusher, with 2 walk on o-lineman, JC at QB, and playing in the SEC.

I still remember the day he committed to us. That was the last time I really believed that we were going to be competing for championships again.

It's too bad it didn't work out. I'll always wonder if we had hired a more skilled coach or a smoother salesman-recruiter-type, if we could have held onto him.

Hell bro after living in L.A. for 12 years and seeing how great a recruiter LK was I thought we were headed to the promised land myself. Then he landed BB and I thought it has begun. The building blocks are coming to place and the foundation is being set.

LK got this fanbase so hyped up. Then.....well......ummm.....now were hoping to wake up every morning to hear DD is fired. From dreams of Championships to prayers we don't lose our history/tradition of dominance to the likes of Vandy, Kentucky, and Mizzu. Boy how quickly it can fall all apart.

It is called diet and elite strength and conditioning. He looks about 25 lbs bigger to me.

That and he was an 18 y/o kid last time vol in pdx saw him. I still remember people on here complaining saying he was overrated his freshman year. He was a true freshman and playing injured but you couldn't tell the experts on here any different. He never wanted to play at Kansas State so he didn't it wasn't because he couldn't get playing time.

That's just it, Dooley asked why he should need "to recruit guys that are already here" and IMO didn't try hard enough to keep him.

How many of you really care how he does in the NFL? I have seen several posts in the last few weeks regarding his play. I personally few him as the biggest "vol4now" ever! He never seemed legit or "worth the hype" in my book.

Brown played at Tennessee with a slow to heal hip injury. Maybe he was better off avoiding the beating he would have taken in the SEC. He even avoided playing time at KSU.

This was one of the bigger Dooley failures, especially in hindsight.

I'm glad for Bryce, always seemed like a good kid who wasn't managed very well. Hope he continues to perform well.

Bryce Brown was a waste of talent at UT? Hell, what about Adrian Foster! And whatever you think of Bryce, I still blame that chucklehead Kiffin for playing him late vs. UCLA. Remember the game we lost late right at their goaline? This is the sequence directly from the ESPN archive.

1st and Goal at UCLA 7 Bryce Brown rush for a loss of 1 yard to the UCLA 8.
2nd and Goal at UCLA 8 Montario Hardesty rush for 5 yards to the UCLA 3.
3rd and Goal at UCLA 3 Bryce Brown rush for 1 yard to the UCLA 2.
4th and Goal at UCLA 2 Montario Hardesty rush for 1 yard to the UCLA 1.

So Kiffin is ALTERNATING Brown and Hardesty, running each in from the sidelines on alternating plays. Comments

A. Hardesty is much more of a power back than Brown
B. Why are you running each back in on alternate plays from the sideline? They're going to wear themselves out running back and forth you effing moron!
C. Why is Brown running at all? What about keeping Montario in rythym? See B!
D. Kiffin was an effing MORON, and some of you still think he was a "purty good corch". Without his diddy running the D, he was terrible and even with him he was above average at best. My God! We fired Fulmer for THAT ahole?
E. Hardesty two carries SIX yards, Brown 2 carries ZERO yards. Nuff said! Hey Kiffin...RUN HARDESTY FOUR TIMES YOU EFFING ASS CLOWN!

Comments finished. As you were.

But...oh yeah. Always thought Brown was overated anyway. Hardesty has been in the NFL from Day one and is still playing...I think for the Bills, and Foster is obviously 20x the back Brown is. Still pretty good if he's in the NFL, but yeah, Kiffin cost us that UCLA game big time.:finger3:

So my point is, did Kiffin cut some deal with Brown about playing time as a true frosh. Rumor had it he did. And did this lead to Kiffin's brain fart that cost us the UCLA game that year? I always thought it was so, and that it did, but ICBW.
