True. A guy will have to start as a Fr to do that and there's little chance of that.

Stokes little brother could possibly RS then compete for the QB job after Crompton is gone.

From the sound of it, if he doesn't get more impressive throwing the ball he might end up at WR, which wouldn't be bad cause his brother could teach and work with him outside of practice.

The point of that post wasn't how well the kid will do. Its was an overly optimistic statement. I spend allot of time on here and after everyone puts their ten cents in i just about got furious. Point of it was, be glad we have a kid like that to commit. I just got really tired of everyone getting bashed that committed. Can he be better than Peyton in college? Doubt it. Would i like to see Peytons records and stats challenged? Dang right i would! Nothing against him but even with his stats WE DIDNT WIN A NC! So if yall can bash someone that isnt proven yet then i can glorify him as well. It all will leads up to I told you so laters.

coaltrain, last year we had a chance with Terelle Pryor until Cutcliffe left. We're all ready for another elite QB. I had hoped B.J. would be the next one.

we never know who it will be. we all may wish crompton had of started since day one after this season but we cant take away the past. This time it was me getting bashed and i asked for it but im tired of all the bashing on here. Especially new commits.

I agree with you in principle. As I have stated before, if someone was stupid enough to offer me a football scholarship to UTK there's no way I would've turned it down and I can assure you that I would be the lowest rated scholarship athlete in the program in the modern era, maybe in the entire history of the program. Hence, there is no ill will towards anyone who accepts an offer. It is not the fault of any current prospect that the staff dropped the ball on the 2006 and 2008 classes; however, that does not change the fact that without a top notch class this year it is hard to imagine how the Vols will really compete for an SEC championship in the following 2-4 years. This needs to be a superstar class right up there with 2007 and it is not bashing commits to point that fact out.

A lot can happen to a kid in a year. There can be a big difference in physical maturity between a kid who is 17 going on 18 and a kid who is 16 going on 17. I believe that Chavisut's point is that Petty will not have that extra 6 months to a year of maturing time that recruits who have birthdays early in their school year already have. Basically, he could end up being a much better prospect than anybody is thinking now or might be thinking at the end of his senior year.

Isn't it a little premature to say that Terelle is an elite QB and B.J. isn't? Neither one of them have played a college down and both were highly touted recruits. I can't wait to see Terelle Pryor tear up the Little 10, win a Heisman, get spanked by an SEC team in the NC 2 years in a row, get picked in the top 10 of the first round and be playing Arena ball after 3 years. His athleticism is not overly impressive and his throwing ability isn't impressive at all. I doubt he would have ever played QB if he came to UT.

Umm...you have to play 3 years of college football before going pro. Also, how is his athleticism not overly impressive? Did you not watch that AAA game? His throwing is yet to be determined and I don't think it will be as good as most believe, but he just graduated. And how would he not have played QB if he came here, isn't that what we recruited him for?

Ok....I'm sure all the recruiting experts are just putting him up at the top for no reason....hmmm Vince Young, Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Percy Harvin yep all of them are Arena Bowl bound...You seem very disgusted that Pryor picked tOSU instead of UT and thats why u say hes not impressive or that u didnt watch him in the Army All-American Bowl?

Well I mean I wanted the NUMBER 1 player in the nation to come to UT but he didnt....im not going to question his ability and attack him to call him arena football bound is hilarious and yet ludicris

I was personally disgusted that he chose OSU over Tennessee. I dont know about the rest of you, but Im disgusted when anyone we're recruiting picks someone else. Maybe you guys didnt pick up on that in my previous 9000 posts.

You know how much stars don't matter. 9 of the 32 first round draft picks in the 2008 Draft weren't even ranked. And also 12 of the 32 2nd round picks weren't ranked.
