by the way, hundreds of great qb's have sat their freshman year and still went on to greatness.

in some aspects yes. in others no.

pilots run simulators all day long before every going into a real life combat scenerio.

i think if a simulator is ok before life or death missions than a c rated team would be good enough for a qb before a sec team.

just saying.

Yeah, that's not really the same thing.

Just asking what the team gained by it now that it looks like he's sitting back down for the next game and the next two years.

Just asking what the gain was.

There is a 100% definite gain from doing this. He was just standing around with a clipboard. Now he has gained invaluable experience. Arkansas on the road? Getting blown out 49-7? You don't think that'll stick with this kid?

He's going to remember that and when he IS ready, he's going to already know what it's like to play an SEC road game and manage SEC speed.

K ur right, you convinced me. It was a horrible idea! Dang you Dooley why do you continue to screw us playing freshman when we have good quality upper class men!

fact is there is nothing he gained from this season that he wouldnt gain in the next two years if his redshirt hadn't of been burned.

the juice was not worth the squeeze.

Please remind me who we beat with Worley?

I seem to have forgotten.

They fly a simulator because it's better experience than nothing. But it isn't the same as doing it for real while people are trying to kill you.

Also, a flight simulator is lot better facsimile of the real thing than the Georgia State defense is for an SEC defense on the road.

People have made point after point but you refuse to believe them! What is the point in this thread then?.

Because he's too stupid to know how that would feel sitting on the sidelines?

If Bray stays healthy, Worley will never get the type of snaps in the next two years that he's gotten in the past 3 weeks.

So many variables in play right now as it pertains to 2015. By that time, Peterman or another QB could have taken the job outright over Worley anyway. Or, maybe not. Maybe Worley is the next Peyton Manning, but since we blew his redshirt, we only get him for one year? Or two? The point is, Dooley has stressed that the team will not be held hostage by the past (losses to Florida, or wins against Vandy), and It seems like he refuses to be held hostage by the future as well. You put the best players on the field and let the chips fall where they may.

So Worley is the best option even though he doesnt know the playbook? Simms has played well against inferior opponents which I have proven before in another thread. This losing your team thing is a bit of a stretch unless you know some insider info. You cant be telling me that you think Simms would have put less points on the board than Worley. I personally believe that Simms would have gotten us MORE points in the USC game. I actually should have used an if/then. If Bray plays against Vandy, then the Worley experiment was for not. That is a more accurate statement.

Simms > Worley against USC
Simms = Worley against MTSU
Simms = Worley against Ark (cant really judge a 7 point showing)

Show me where the Worley experiment succeeded other than assuming it "helped team moral" and reps. Beating USC would have helped it more.

the point was he learned what it felt to get his ass kicked?

he learned what it felt like to play on national tv and against a great team and get his clock cleaned?

these are all great facts for burning his redhsirt in games we GOT KILLED IN....

your facts are sad.

I will say this about Simms.
He did know when to change the play at the LOS.
The running game was better when he was starting.
Worley has the better arm though.

It's unbelievable you're so concerned about what will happen 4 years from now.

You obviously don't understand and I'm done arguing, we played two teams that were SUPPOSED to beat us, and beat a team that we were SUPPOSED to beat. That is all. Worley Gained experience! I like it, you don't end of conversation.

I don't fault the decision to burn his redshirt.

If Dooley had kept Simms in he would be hearing a lot about that. (as for Volnation people would be calling for his head more than they already are IMO)

Hopefully Bray stays healthy next season and there is no need to worry about playing the backup QB, but if that situation arises I say put Worley in and not Peterman.

Worley is good but he is didn't show as a freshman the same promise that Bray did as a freshman.
