Bush is just such a buffoon

Yes because we all know that college grades are the be all and end all measure of one's intellect.

So maybe we should look at:

Who would win in an election? No...Bush won there to.

How about, who got the more attractive wife? No....Bush won there as well.

What criteria should we use?

Who was more effective in avoiding the Vietnam War. That is a hard one to call. Bush avoided all together. Kerry got what would amount to a hangnail and got discharged with a purple heart. Toss up there.

Bush's gpa was used as a primary example as to why he wasn't considered all that bright. I think it is funny that one of the people who used this too his advantage and claimed intellectual superiority had a lower gpa. that is all.

Gold digging is a nice measure in Kerry comes out miles ahead there. With the price of gold where it is today (and that's Bush's fault I might add), Kerry looks like a genius (shabby grades at Yale notwithstanding).

I think Bush has proven many times exactly where his intellect should be placed, at least in relative terms.

And I believe Kerry should fall somewhere under Bush. WHat makes it worse is that Bush is not the brightest bulb on the chandelier by far but that makes Kerry look slightly more intelligent than an amoeba.

I'd say Hillary would win that one :whistling:

He doesn't come off as the most articulate speaker, but I think once you get an Ivy League MBA and win 2 Presidential elections it sort of makes people questioning your intelligence look a little silly.

Remember that his daddy arranged all of that for him.

Exactly, he must have some smarts, or he is the luckiest damn man in the world. I agree with you on this one. How could anyone with any intelligence question a guy with a degree from Yale(A pretty good school, I think?), been the governor of Texas, and the president of the U.S.. I hope my kids are that dumb or lucky.....whatever!

Absolutly, he does have smarts. You know, Chris Lofton is damn good basketball player. He is much better than the average person walking down the street but compare him to Kobe Bryant and how good is he? I think the same argument is being made about Bush, no doubt he is a smart man but is he smart in comparison to people we expect to hold the top position in the country?

Hard to know how smart the typical POTUS is. Some we know are considered to be very smart, others we don't really judge but instead look at other characteristics.

Same with CEOs. They all need to be smart but they don't have to be geniuses (literally speaking) to be effective leaders.

compared to Al Gore and John Kerry, W is easily the Valedictorian in that class.
