Butch and Malzahn

If you know what these resemble than you get my point.

It's not all about the "talent". It's really all about coaching and schemes.

It's not all about coaching and schemes - "you r an id-ot." for posting 3-9 and 5-7.

You have to have talent - if you know what the items in the parenthesis represent you get my point.

I am not too certain about our OC and our offensive plans. I'll come back in 2 years after everyone agrees.

I realize Malzahn already had talent in place but I'm not sure we will ever be able to keep up with a team like Auburn. We are lightyears behind. Frustrating.

But I thought offenses like Auburn's (or Oregon's) only works with Tebows, Newtons, and Maziels. You know once in a life time QBs (or 3 in less than a decade but who's counting?). I guess that converted DB, Marshall, is just another once in a life timer (or 4th in less than a decade but who's counting?).

AmIright, rc? AmIright?

Butch's offense has never really been dominant like Malzahn's, even at lower levels. It's not a matter of talent, it's a matter of coaching. That never really bothered me when we hired Jones though, because I felt he was a winner and could change his offense and defense to what was needed to compete in the SEC. I didn't realize he would just want to hire the exact same assistants and just give them huge raises and keep trying to run sideways.

Another one of those "I hope we do bad so I can say I told you so" types. You are either a troll or just an idiot and possibly both.

Maybe we should just switch rosters with Maryville. I thought I would say something as stupid as some of these comments. To many Xbox and ps3 coaches on here.

Yeah and what's so funny is when we played Auburn a lot on here (who do not know football) wanted to fire our DC. Unreal people. Missouri is suppose to be good on D and so is Alabama. And Auburn put up a lot of points on each of them. And they have a lot more talent than we do right now.

TGVol....oregonvol....WYLO......those 3 want the whole staff fired.

Missouri's defense was embarrassingly bad--they looked worse than us, seriously. 59 points? That's a pinball game, not SEC football. There wasn't a lot of stout defense in the SEC this year. Bama was good but not as good, LSU pretty strong, that's about it on the defensive side.

Let me guess you were on here in 08 bashing Clawson too right. Jimmy Johnson may be one of the best Nascar drivers out there but if you put him in a ford escort he ain't gonna win a race, schemes only get you so far execution of said schemes is what makes the difference.

What was Auburn thinking last year when they were 0-8 in the conference. What's up wit this inferior never can attitude some of you have?

Notice how Most of the good spread teams have backs that are fast rather than big--that is true of the starting backs for auburn and missouri. UT, on the other hand, tends to have bigger backs with less speed. Been true for years. Neal had decent size and OK but not great speed. Lane has some wiggle but does not have much speed. Why do UT's speed guys always end up at slot receiver--and then don't play all that much?

Even though I agree mostly, Auburn has some exceptional players; it isn't all system and scheme. Tre Masons are hard to find.

If we had C.P., Justin Hunter, M. Rivera...with North and Pig to go with our run game this year.....we would've been playing Auburn tonight and not having this discussion :dunno:
I'm just saying....Butch would be looking like a genius like Malzahn is right now.

Was thinking the same thing. First, we have to get the talent issue fixed. Butch Jones is doing a good job of that. Second, we have got to find a dynamic, game changing player at the QB position. These "system" methodical type QBs just cannot keep up with a team like Auburn. If Tennessee wants to compete with the best, our QB recruiting needs a major upgrade. Like a 5 star upgrade.

They have #2 rushing defense in SEC...Auburn can run the ball. Guess it wasn't our inept D after all. They did it to us, Alabama and Mizzou.

It's not all about the talent? So a good coach like Saban can take a high school team and beat Auburn. :eek:lol: You got to have the talent. I don't care how good a coach you are. Gus was left a lot of talent at Auburn.
