Butch and Malzahn

Great year for the barn. I still look at Auburns 8-4 record two years ago when Malzahn was still there and wonder if he can sustain it. He has a good QB right now that is essentially a RB who can pass. Very interested to see how it goes next year after all DC's watch film for a year on them and figure out ways to stop them. Lord knows they are killing it right now.

Not a chance? Saying Vandy won't have a chance would be correct but we are currently the #2 ranked team in recruiting..saying we don't have a chance is ignorant

The only chance we have is if Saban goes to Texas and their class disperses. As it stands, we have NO chance to catch/pass them this year. At least not according to most sites and the math they use.

If we had C.P., Justin Hunter, M. Rivera...with North and Pig to go with our run game this year.....we would've been playing Auburn tonight and not having this discussion :dunno:
I'm just saying....Butch would be looking like a genius like Malzahn is right now.

True. I wonder what Auburn would look like without Mason, Grant, Marshall and Coates? How good would they be with their whole starting offense gone?

No...no, no, no, no it was all the poor coaching we have :eek:lol: Just ask most of VolNation....they'll tell you all about it.

That's right we are way too slow, our players and coaches suck. Everybody needs to be replaced because Auburn cannot run on anybody else like they did on us.....oh wait

I realize Malzahn already had talent in place but I'm not sure we will ever be able to keep up with a team like Auburn. We are lightyears behind. Frustrating.

No comparison at all!!! Auburn had alot of players that remained from the championship team.

Of course, the main players from that championship team left for the NFL after the championship season.

Also, all of our players had to learn bUTch's personality and his system. bUTch had to learn just what he had in the players on the team.

Whereas; Gus was one season removed from Auburn, so he was familiar with the team and the team was familiar with him.

Aren't you the one that said Malone was going to commit to Georgia?

Think it's a safe bet with Malzahn getting "his" players, everybody will be playing catch up with them for a while. Our best Ds ever would struggle to stop that kind of rushing scheme. With a little luck in recruiting they could easily end up as potent as mid 90s Nebraska.

UTs best defenses? didn't Chiefs Defense beat em this year ?

Malzahn was only gone one season. He already has 'his' players.

Im talking like top 2 recruiting classes every year like Bammer has been doing. He obviously got some great key players, but let them get a NC and see what happens.

Watching the game today, we need to recruit two or three years like this to compete.

That was a hell of a game today...Even though they lost, Pinkel put a hell of a product of the field this year. If not for Cutcliffe's great season at Duke I'd say Pinkel would be COTY.

I'm the OP. I'm hammered, but we have a long way to go. I don't think we stand a freakin' chance right now. Bama and Auburn are a decade ahead of us. Florida will destroy us again next year. I just don't see a way out of this crap.

butch jones was left a team with very little talent most of each left for nfl and most of the current starters wouldn't even start for other sec teams! Auburn is full of talent
