How do you figure? November/December is far and away the best time.

Signing day being so close and with a coaching change you will lose commits.

Edit: The above post refers to Dec/Jan. November is probably the best month.

I agree about January. When I said December, I meant right after your season ends, which could be the last week in November or the first week in December, either one leaving two months until signing day.

I don't know how I feel about that. I will be attending UNC in 2013. It would be interesting.

Wow, you know that far in advance? Why so confident?

I will also be attending UNC in 2013 (2011-2017; it's a long program).

Looks like the record books may be missing a winner for the 2010 Music City Bowl!

Welcome back to the cellar UNC. Hope there are some vintage spirits down there.

I don't know for absolute fact that I will be there, but I am very confident because I have a better resume than a few people I know who got accepted and my grades should really allow me to go anywhere. I also plan to be an in-state student by that time, which should help me pay for it. I have not officially contacted the university because I don't want it to look like I am only moving to the area for school. That is actually where my family and I want to live, mainly because of the opportunities there for us, but having great schools in close proximity is a nice side effect. I don't think it will be an issue even though I am aware of how hard it is to get into UNC.

I wasn't questioning your ability to get in, just having your college decision all planned out so far in advance.

I will say that if you can apply as an in-state student, it's VASTLY easier to get in. There's a state law stating that UNC student body has to have a certain percentage (pretty high) of in-state kids. You may have good enough grades that it doesn't matter, but if you establish residency in advance, it can't hurt.

BLOOD IN THE WATER.

Time to poach some players.

Here they are currently, per Rivals:

Kedrick Davis ATH 5-10/165 *** 48
Nate Dortch DB 5-11/168 NR
John Ferranto OL 6-6/270 ** NR
Jon Heck OL 6-6/280 *** NR
Terrance Knox TE 6-2/240 *** 33
Dan Mastromatteo LB 6-2/215 *** 68
Justin Meredith TE 6-5/210 **** 12
J.J. Patterson OL 6-4/310 **** 7
Shakeel Rashad LB 6-2/213 *** 36
Patton Robinette QB 6-5/200 *** 27
Christian Russell LB 6-0/225 NR
Phillip Williamson LB 6-3/208 *** 34

Meredith does indeed look like the best one to go after & seems to be the only one with a Tennessee offer. No DL's on the list, though.
