Butch Jones Follies

You're not (neither are the other a**hats defending him) a better person or "classy" by trying to move the topic of him. He opened himself up to the ridicule and was paid nicely for it. You don't like it, the start a club or butch bootlickers and move tf on.
Noone is trying to stop you from defending him - just encouraging you to do it over there Why are you trying to stop people from seeing him for what he is?

Hypersensitive, I see, and misreading my Lyle Allen post. Have at it, boss. Tain't worth more time than I've already given it.
How 'bout that Mizzou win?

Low class individual posing smoking a cigar celebrating a win over kids he recruited. AState hired a first class loser this time.

What was he supposed to do? Tell Saban he wanted to remain neutral and not to appear gloating? I just don’t hate coaches who came here, tried their best, and failed.

I bet half the people who always get their panties in a wad about Butch are the ones all on the Lane train despite what him and his staff tried to pull on the way out. Hate a dude that gave us our 2 best seasons outside Fulmer but love the dude that's holding an empty gas can after pouring it on us and starting this dumpster fire.

And the cigar thing is so stupid. We fired him. He was on the Alabama staff. They smoke them when they win. Of course he was going to do it. It would have been absolutely awkward had he refused.

Yes, his tenure ended with a resounding thud, but this whole hating Butch thing is stupid and petty as hell.

Hard to forget a disastrous train wreck that wasn’t our fault but paid $$$ dearly for. Plus the train conductor goes to the other side and mocks us relentlessly. Hard to just move on.
Yah. Makes it hard to forget him or wish well for him after he mocked the players he'd recruited from Bama's locker room after that game. Also makes him look like a major idiot, celebrating the fact that the players he'd recruited and coached couldn't beat the team he was currently running errands for.

You know, sometimes it's a matter of reaping what you sow. His players apparently aren't buying in to his imperialistic style. Surprising. Wouldn't all young men run through that brick wall they built for him?

Butch Jones did not try his best here. He made stupid decision after stupid decision. He was extremely lazy with our strength and conditioning program, which is why we always had a terrible o-line and a record number of injuries with him. He made the same mistakes over and over during his 5 years here - terrible clock management and terrible end of game decisions (see UF 2015, 2017, and SC 2016, just for a few examples. There were plenty more). One sign of a person who is terrible at their job is they do not learn from their mistakes, and Butch always made the exact same mistakes, year after year.

His in-game adjustments were terrible. The way he addressed the media was always terrible. The way he handled our star players was terrible. The entire 2017 season, he wasn’t even trying. He wanted out because he couldn’t handle the pressure of the job. He set the program back a decade, and he gave the team their worst losing season in Vol history. Where you get the idea that he tried his best, I have no clue.

He had losing records his first year at Cincy and Tennessee. Plus some of Arkansas State's losses have been close. His team will be better next year.

Plus Butch isn't here any more. Can we just let it go and focus on the team and head coach we have now?

No, because you can’t get the same talent at Ark St. it’s going to be the same level of talent and his lack of development and coaching will shine much sooner than his previous stops. He’s mooched off every coach he’s been behind.

How soon people forget how much talent he pissed away because he wouldn’t get out of the way.

They forget his offense looked good because of guys who made plays when there weren’t any.

They forget in a gift wrapped SECE, in his best season, he still didn’t make ATL.

They forget how he treated his players, his coaches, and AD staff while at Tennessee

They forget that he was locked out of most if not all meeting rooms under Saban. He literally offered nothing of substance to the program there.

And we’re supposed to forgive and forget?

Fk Jones!

And yet if you found yourself on an elevator with Butch Jones one day you wouldn’t have the stones to say any of that

I think it’s odd for people to celebrate a coach’s failures somewhere else simply because he didn’t meet your expectations here.
Nothing to do with failure to meet my win/loss expectations. He was exposed as a lying douchebag who robbed many of these athletes from the successes they would have had. He created a toxic environment and was completely devoid of any integrity or leadership abilities. That’s why I enjoy seeing him fail.

He was posing for photos and celebrating like he won the damn national championship. Yes, don’t gloat. He was a damn intern and nobody would even notice if he declined to participate.

And running him down on this message board like spoiled children is high class?

He put his picture out there posing like he did something, I didn’t. You live in the public eye like that, you are subject to criticism. He did nothing. Alabama would have won by the except same score if Jones was selling shoes at the Tuscaloosa mall that day.

Did he put his photo out there or did someone else put his photo out there looking to get a rise out of idiot UT fans?

Doesn’t matter.

He disrespected the fans and his own players that day. Made himself look like a damn fool considering he had zero impact on the Bama win.
