Butch Jones is a horrible coach. The only reason he found a little success was because of Josh Dobbs willing wins to happen, along with a very talented cast of characters on the offensive side of the football.
That’s my unbiased opinion of him. When I allow my biases to come out, then I say he is man of little character.
The way he bad mouthed the players he was incapable of developing was nauseating.
His going to Alabama as essentially an intern was wrong…not against the rules, but wrong. If he had any character, he wouldn’t have continued to milk his last employer who was still paying his buyout to take a position with Alabama.
If he had any class, he wouldn’t have been proudly puffing cigars in the bowels of Neyland after Alabama wins…while still on the payroll. The man has no shame.
And whenever I think of Butch, I think of his reaction to the Georgia Hail Mary. I know people will probably want to pick this apart, but it’s how I feel about it. It looked like he never expected to win a big game. He should have been running to Dobbs and Jennings thanking them for finding a way in spite of Butch. Instead he drops to a knee and looks like a fool.
Butch Jones belongs in a gym somewhere in the Midwest teaching middle school PE.
I could go, but I think that’s enough to get the point across.
(And, yes, I’m over Butch Jones, have moved on, and his name or his face rarely cross my
mind…but since the subject came up, I needed to get that off my chest

)
