Butch Jones needs to own this!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree with the OP that Butch Jones must own this!!!!!!!

He will have a hard time running from it though, as it appears the NCAA has credited us with a win. His wikipedia page has even been updated from 52 head-coaching wins to 53.

Take that Butch!

Our last coach at least tried not to win this type of game, only winning 32 as a head coach. The guy before that had the good sense to leave town after a single winning season and only won 35 games as a college coach.

The way things are going, Butch will have more wins that both those guys combined in a year or two. Good Lord! Whatever happened to humility?!!!!!!

and checking with the UT site, and EVERY other sporting site on this planet, it is a WIN!

Go follow the 1972 Dolphins.....no wait....i'm sure in your 'glass always half empty' world, they would be criticized by you also!

What?

I'm learning to read between the lines on Butch and this is my take:
He won't come out and say it, but I think his analysis of this team is that they are a group of guys who are accustomed to losing.
He talks a lot about teaching points and the two big plays at the end of the SA game were teaching points. (his words on his show)
He and staff are working toward the sustained effort and concentration it takes to be a winning team.
If he can get what he's trying to instill by season's end, he'll get at least 6 and a bowl.
Dang this schedule though.

Back it up with numbers not emotion.

Kiffin's team thrashed them when they were at UGA, Dooley's when they were at Cincy. Both of those UT teams are not what we generally think of as the height of UT football history (to be polite). So what was you question again? Numbers cannot explain those guys any better than those 2 cold facts.
Having said this I want to see how they do tomorrow vs UGA - they should know their offensive system inside out and if they have any pride this will be the game for them to show up vs the team that fired them. If they do that I'm willing to reconsider my personal opinion that CBJ needs to get rid of them asap.

With the floundering state of this program the last number years I'm not sure how you can question a win. I loved that win. It was a heck of a game.

Those are indeed facts that you point out. It is however a piss poor logical pattern to believe that the situations that led to those facts are even remotely germaine to the current situation. :peace2:

Why would you say that's not logical? If they only got thrashed by Dooley you could maybe say it had something to do with lack of talent at Cincy. But when they were at UGA Kiffin also thrashed them even though its highly doubtful he had more talent then they did at UGA at that point. So far they have shown they can not do it with or without talent (including this year in 2 games that mattered). I hope that starts changing asap (this afternoon would be the perfect time to see something positive given our DC should have some additional benefit of knowing UGA offensive tendencies - GO VOLS)!
