OL either pass blocks or run blocks.They have been good pass blocking and have yet in 4 years figured out run blocking. Butch just does both faster. So what is your point?

This statement and others like it are embarrassing.

Do you realize how vanilla our offense is right now ? Our QB cannot execute basic pass plays . They are not asking him to invent the wheel out there .

Because he cant pass ..the run lanes are constantly clogged .

Because we cant run reliably and cannot pass reliably we cannot get 1st downs and have to punt .

Our defense plays great for 1 or 2 quarters and fades. We have no depth . No 3 deep , a 2 deep filled with walk-ons and freshmen . What would you suspect they would do ?

Sooooo...they should coach the QB up ? If it was that easy , every team at every level of football would have a Manning level QB.

They should invent depth ? Somehow our rag tag 2 deep should be on an elite level .

What about our receivers ...freshmen , walk-ons, a couple of guys that were running backs last season. Should be taking the SEC by storm ..these caliber an level of receivers routinely dominate.

This program has a ton of issues right now ...please dont add one to the heap with goofy shortsighted demands and proclamations.

Seriously? Get off this board. You are a bad joke! CBJ has a proven system and doesnt have the players yet to run it. Surely you saw Sal try to run a 3-4 defense with 4-3 players last year. Same thing dude.

it does make me wonder why they haven't given North a few snaps at running back,to see what happens

here are a few things i got from CBJ post game interview

Palardy is doing a good job,it seems something has clicked with this staff and he is doing good

Croon finally had a good game and is starting to look like the receiver everybody hoped he will be

and North can be really great,seems he has some learning to do and i would love to see him in the backfield as a running back and see what he does.for a few plays any way

I kind of agree with you - if CBJ holds onto current recruiting class he deserves 3 years. It's just that I don't think that is likely to happen if he does not upgrade his assistants (if he does not win enough this year and especially next the recruiting will start falling apart quickly - same thing happened to Dooley - if he could have won one of those close games in his first year (for example LSU) things could have worked out differently). You just can't last in this type of job if you lose big for couple of years (and especially if you look bad while losing which was the case vs Oregon and UF).

I'm tired of hearing that we don't have enough talent on this team or any of the previous teams since Fulmer. If you are a good coach then you have to be able to coach up your players. Yea we are not loaded with 5 star players. But we do have several 4 stars on this team with some three stars sprinkled in. For us to struggle with south alabama today is pitiful. A team that finished near the bottom in recruiting. I know people hated Kiffin because he ran off alot of players and got us in the mess we are in. But he beat georgia and south carolina with less talent. Tennessee will never get back to an elite level unless our coaches know how to coach players up. Dooley and now Jones haven't showed that they can do this and that is what this program needs!

This was the first game that brought their coaching ability into question. Pi$$-poor execution in the 2nd half...on both sides of the ball.

It's a W. And they deserved it after what they've been through.

I'm starting to develop serious questions about the best staff in America, but yesterday could have easily been an L.

You ppl that are expecting instant results are truly not fans of the game. It does not happen like that. The other SEC teams fans are laughing at us just because of how unrealistic yall are expecting instant results. Give him two more years and we will be fine. Yeah I want wins as bad as anyone, but keep changing coaches is just setting us back more and more. So please do us all a favor and quit your belly aching about him not being the right coach. Geeze.....

Ok, you're right. It is a win on paper, and I'm sure as hell glad we're 3-2 and not 2-3. I didn't make my point clear.

My view of the So Alabama game was that in the big picture, that game didn't move our program forward. Could you take some good things out of it, sure. But there were more negatives than positives.... look at the overwhelming negative response from fans. The reason was, I believe, because most recognized that our team took a step back based on the team's inability to close out an inferior talented team after being embarrassed the previous 2 weeks...JMO.

I feel for Butch after watching the Butch Jones Show, he's behind the 8 ball and can't do much about it. His only way out of this hole is through recruiting, recruiting and coaching up the players. I'm still pissed at UT for ever letting this situation get so out of hand.
