Surely you don't expect us to read your reactions here and convince us you don't care.
Oh I care, bad wording on my part. I guess you could say I've come to expect losing and it really doesn't bother me any more. I used to schedule my weekends around UT football. I now watch the games if I don't have anything better to do. There was a time I had season tickets then I let them go. For a while I used to get tickets for 2-3 games and was excited when they came my way. This year is the first year I haven't attended a game in probably 10 years. I turned down tickets at least five times this year. I guess you can see a pattern develop here.
Can't hang this game on Pig when its literally THE WORST game I have ever seen by a UT QB in 36 years. That being said...2 games this year Pig made a play that cost us the game. Sadly he is probably the most explosive player we have. The fumble across the goal line cost us the game though...and the completely unnecessary block in the back cost us this game. Both plays took 7 points off the board in games decided by less..can't argue with that. Freaking terrible.
Many fans do not feel like that. We can make it without the others. Bandwagon fans come and go.
I applaud you for your blind enthusiasm. I really do, no joking. But if you think that the UT fan base isn't dwindling at an alarming rate, well go to the mall. I am an old guy, long in the teeth if you will. Seeing oposing teams apparel was an anomaly. Now it's about as common as UT apparel (I'm talking about Knoxville btw). We are losing a whole generation of Vol fans. It's sad really. And what is really m Ind boggling to me is the level of Vol fans that seem to be ok with the level of play we are currently experiencing.
Now, before you or anyone throw out that I'm another delusional negavol with unrealistic expectations, I realize CBJ was dealt a difficult hand. I don't think he or even any of his staff should be fired. But, CBJ was an experiment. While his resume was decent, he is very inexperienced. He was a last min desperation hire from Hart.
I don't pretend to know the reason Hart made the hire. Maybe it's true and no one else would take the job. After Strong left us at the alter it appeared that Hart had a knee jerk reaction. Maybe he had exhausted all other avenues but CBJ was and continues to be an experiment.
Will all the components mesh in the test tube and the experiment be a success? Well we'll see in about three years. All we have now is to look at the pieces see if they seem to be coming together and for me I have my doubts that it's going to work. I hope I'm wrong though. Go Big Orange!
I wonder does anybody think how ***** thinks he probably can't wait to get most of these Guys out of here......honestly if Worley plays we win by 21 true fresh qb that threw a pick on the first throw how do you have confidence in that and vanilla play calling how can I call my real play book with lack of execution we have a finese online....I'm glad riley didn't play there is your qb next yr I'm sure almost everyone on the d is a new face
I haven't read all 10 pages of comments, but most of them. So far I haven't seen anyone comment on the wind problems at the game. One of Butch's post-game comments posted on Twitter by one our reporters (wish I could remember who) said that he chose the fake punt because the cross-winds were making punting very difficult, and that was a long one. That might explain not only Palardy's unusual night, but some of the passing difficulties, too. I remember one of the commentators observing after Vandy's missed FG that the ball looked great starting out and then suddenly dropped straight down in front of the uprights, and wondered if it was the wind. Anybody at the game want to comment on the conditions in there? Sounds like it may have played a big role.

The university of Tennessee is down right now.. Everyone knows this, but that doesn't mean that any true fan will stop pulling for them. I don't call sticking with your team blind enthusiasm, I call it not being a bandwagon fan. That being said we don't know if butch jones can coach or not because we fielded one of the least talented teams in the history of tennessee football. He needs time to get some talent on the field, then we will see if he is the guy or not. He seems to be recruiting well so hopefully he can right the ship.
Go vols..
you guys are crazy. If you are optimistic the team will be good in 2 years, don't let one of these jackwagons tell you that you can't. That's not blind optimism. That's knowing anything can happen, especially when you have more talent on the field. Our team in 2-3 years will be the most talented team in a decade or so.
