That's not true. He made the excuse that because North went out that we essentially couldn't throw the ball at all, that he is our only speed guy. He clearly made the excuse that the refs were to blame with his "no comments" line when asked about them. There's two.

Saying that losing North was catastrophic is an exagerration, I will grant you that. But that's quite a leap you are making to say he's blaming all the pass problems on that. In fact, if you want an "excuse" for the passing game, he mentioned that Dobbs was a freshman. But that's not an excuse, it's a statement of fact.

I am sure Butch Jones feels worse than anyone about this loss. He may or may not turn it around, but he is far more likely than Dooley or Kiffin to succeed.

We had 53 passing yards against their second string db's. All four of them. How do you not exploit that as a coach, as a player. Heck I can't even begin to understand how they lose that many an we don't pick up a step at all.

It is clear we have very little talent and depth on this team. Anyone blaming the coaching staff knows very little about football.

TN has 35 highly rated HS players while Vandy on has 8 according to Phil Steele. He bases it on every recruiting organization 5 or 6 combined.

Injuries are always bad, but how was losing North catastrophic? We had about 25 yards passing while he was in there.

Catastrophic in that when Coach Jake finally decides to pass downfield late in the 4th when he's desperate, our best deep threat is gone. Doesn't occur to him before then to throw deep so I see your point.

True. I already can't stand this "read option". I realize we don't necessarily have the players in place yet but, I want a straight up pro-style, line up and push them off the ball with a fullback in the backfield and TE's blocking the first guy then getting open. This offensive scheme stinks.

Its the first year of this coach. He hasn't had a recruiting class of his own. Are the fans on this forum really this dumb? We dont have an established qb and slow team speed on defense.

I know it sucks losing but don't let it bother you. Go spend time with family or find a hobby. We are not on the field playing or giving tons of money to the university so we just need to relax. Im not going to spend 8-9 months worrying about UT football. It is what it is. You can't live and die with something you have no control over.
