Because we are farther ahead on jr recruiting after a couple of months than we have been in years?

Should we also be concerned Butch is emphasizing Tennessee recruiting more than any coach we have has recently? Ecspecially since said recruiting class is loaded for 2014 in Tennessee?

I'm concerned that half these kids are Vol legacies and that Butch has already reached out to their parents multiple times. That's concerning for sure.

Seems simple realy. We all know the circumstances here, and we pulled a recruiting class in the top 15 percent or so in D-1 football. Good or bad, there it is. Now the next phase is to see how the team performs on the field. Clearly CBJ has a solid work ethic and a positive attitude and if the players adopt these, then we will see it on the field. Truth is, we dont know how things will work out, but things are certainly better than they were! Obviously we needed a "culture change", and I am willing to support those efforts and the coaches and players that are working hard to be champions. Others will invest as feel they can buy in, but I think they will eventually. Surley none of us wants UT to be an "epic fail".

I'm not blindly supporting Butch in any way, but if anyone is going to judge his recruiting ability by this class; then they are simply stupid. It was obvious to anyone watching last season that Dooley gave up on the field. It stands to reason that he also gave up on recruiting as well. Ask yourself, how hard was the doomed staff that remained after Dooley was fired really recruiting? Butch walked into a far worse situation than Kiffin or Dooley from a recruiting standpoint. Some of you like to throw around the word blind when it comes to choosing to not bash this staff. You are the ones that are blind in your disappointment that we did not hire the coach you wanted. No, we didn't get the best class. Yes, some needs were left unaddressed, but to lay full blame on this staff for it is just dumb.

In light of recent things that have come out about Dooley and staff, I don't think there is much speculation anymore. According to some sources...most, not all, but most of the coaches stopped recruiting after the Miss St game. They knew they were gone then.

Personally. I think if they knew they were gone, we should have gone ahead and made it a reality then.
