Butch says no grey uniforms for Florida, undecided if we'll wear them at all in 2014

I forgot you were in charge.

I'm not in charge (and have no desire at all to be in charge of you even if I could ) but since you were explicitly replying to my post about this it seemed logical to point out that I already told you what I think about this (few pages back in this very same thread).

So, at some point the team will wear some sort of alternate uniforms. It couls be this year ot next or whenever. You traditionalists will just have to get over yourselves. Sorry for ya

You are probably right, which is most unfortunate :cray:.
I'm old enough to have seen a lot more serious stuff than this f'd up by people pushing change for sake of change - still does not mean I can't vent on the anonymous internet forum when I see another dumb idea under consideration

Last I checked, swearing was still English. Sorry it insults your delicate sensibilities.

replace '*****ing' with complaining, or whining, or crying (in your case).

replace 'give a ****' with a nice, southern 'give a hoot'.

Send them a letter telling them how offended they are that they didn't personally consult you before making a change. (That still has orange)

I'm sure they'll care.
Remember cursing makes baby Jesus cry!

If George Orwell could rise up from his grave to post on this forum he would quickly get slammed for his negavol style smart ass comments. He would not last a day around here.

I did a quick search to see how long ago orange became our official color. Goes all the way back to 1889, so apparently most previous generations did not find it necessary to mess with this tradition.
Here is the relevant paragraph from the page about UT traditions

Traditions at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville | The University of Tennessee, Knoxville

"UT’s distinctive orange color was inspired by a small cluster of orange and white daisies on the Hill. In 1889, UT athletics association president Charles Moore spotted the flowers and chose the school’s colors in homage. The colors soon appeared on athletic uniforms and they have since appeared on nearly every item in East Tennessee, from clothing to cars."

I'll just keep posting this every 5 pages or so.

Are you under the impression that it's a bunch of 20 year olds running the athletic department? This whole generational spat makes you look more and more 'get off my lawn' and less and less logical. Most of the people in decision making positions are 40+.

Most of the people making these decisions are a bunch of brown nosers, which is a bit worse than the "get off my lawn" folks.

Uh, alternate uniforms weren't as prevalent in previous generations. Times are changing, so I suggest you just breathe.

If we're talking about the checkerboard abomination we saw earlier this year, then I'm glad they won't be seen.

Bottom line is all yall need to get us panties out of a wad. Secondly, is it a good sign that this is the topic being griped about most?

Adidas’ Top 10 Worst College Football Uniforms - Lost Lettermen

I find it funny the "new" grey made #2 on this list yet it hasn't even been confirmed that it's what the jerseys this year will be.

Then again, part of me wonders if they are actually this year's greys, and the reaction has been so negative that Jones came out and said maybe we aren't wearing them this year. A bit conspiracy theory I know.

I'm going to go out on a limb and make Orwellian style prediction that this topic will fade in the background for about 3-4 hours starting tomorrow at noon. Then depending on the outcome of the game one side of this argument will be back here screaming "I TOLD YOU SO".
