To be fair, the recruiting took a dip the last few seasons under Mack. Now A&M is in control of the state. Going to be rough for Charlie.

Some of you wished that we had hired Charlie Strong instead of Butch. He has Texas only 27 points behind BYU going into the 4th quarter.

SOS will kill BYU, but they could have been a dark horse contender for a playoff spot.

Agree with this. He's a class act and is a damn fine coach it's just going to take some time to change the whole culture of that program. They're so unbelievably soft and that doesn't work for him.

Ummm, we did get blown out by a number of opponents Butch's first year here. And lost to Vanderbilt at home.

Oregon? Alabama? National Champion appearing Auburn?

I can see getting blown out by those, but with the talent pool at Texas to get blown out by BYU is questionable.

Neither did I. I wasn't sure who I wanted our coach to be cause none of the names being mentioned struck me as a home run hire. I recall trying to talk myself into the idea of Larry Fedora being our coach but I just wasn't feeling it. Same with String.

Jury's still out on how much Butch is gonna win here, but I'm glad he's our coach for how he's handling his job...just hope it translates to wins.
