To play devils advocate , Travon Walker didnāt even start until this past season and his production previously was limitedHe'd have to have one hell of a year to do that. NFL doesn't care what they were rated coming out of HS. They care about production while in college. Bru hasn't been that productive yet. My guess is we'll have him for at least 2 seasons, but if he does put up just outrageous numbers this year, he might very well consider going pro. Either scenario could be good for us.
He played on an unbelievably good defense, and there were plenty of arguments over just how good he really is. But evaluations also vary by position. There are certain positions the NFL is more willing to take risks on. Personally, I don't see WR as one of those positions, unless it's someone with serious speed. But note, I said if Bru just put up outrageous numbers, he could very well decide to go pro. I don't think just a "good" season does it. It'd have to be pretty spectacular IMO. Now, two good season in a row shows consistency, and the NFL likes consistency. To play devils advocate , Travon Walker didnāt even start until this past season and his production previously was limited
I promise NFL teams have been aware of him since high school. I do agree that he needs a huge year to get the draft grade he's looking for. A 700-800 6TD season might be enough for him to jump (and that's what I expect from him), but he could get a 2-4 round grade with that and decide to come back. Good problem for us to have! He'd have to have one hell of a year to do that. NFL doesn't care what they were rated coming out of HS. They care about production while in college. NFL teams want to see college production. It's entirely possible he has a season like you propose and decides he doesn't mind going later in the draft. If he wants to go Day 1 or even Day 2, I think he needs better numbers. Like a 1000 yd season. Now, back-to-back 700-800 yd seasons would probably put him in that range as well because it demonstrates consistency. Consistency (assuming it happens) is what's going to move Tillman up the draft boards.I promise NFL teams have been aware of him since high school. Yeah but think it's legit combination of big part JH and the culture he's established too. Am quite sure many other teams had NIL deals for him too. If you listen to his interview, I think the culture (team/coaches) and exciting brand of offense were more prevailing factors, compared to what he'd had...think he wanted to get away from west and TX, but there were plenty of other choices.Damn, the NIL stuff is legit (for us). I think it's gonna pull us out the dumpster.
Competent coach, competent AD, and an NIL organization with one of the biggest budgets in the country. When you get all those aligned youāre going to be successful.Yeah but think it's legit combination of big part JH and the culture he's established too. Good points! NIL will help get us out of the depths but culture is what keeps coaches/players driven. I want our team to like each other no matter the consequences.Yeah but think it's legit combination of big part JH and the culture he's established too.
