'19 CA ATH/WR Horace "Bru" McCoy (Tennessee commit)

This all boils down to the fake victim. If she hadn't fabricated the entire story, Bru would have stayed at USC. But, because of her fabricated story, USC lawyers want to avoid future litigation so they don't freely release Bru. The sword cuts both ways. The thing that brought him to us is also the thing slowing the process.

At some point, USC has to realize the negative publicity, even as they try to spin it and justify their position, could have a damaging affect later. Recruits notice and coaches could use this against them in the future.
Hope this is resolved real soon, as it would benefit everyone involved.

just read this is a troll account, but it still holds true the way transfer is being held up.

Go Vols!!

It just got passed to the NCAA. USC said a while ago they were going to sign the NPO and that’s all we needed. But lawyers advised them against it due to Bru’s lawsuit (it would be granting them the auto win). So now it’s at the NCAA to waive him for multiple transfers
Yeah signing the NPO Form is basically attesting to everything he would sue them over. And they have no requirement to respond afaik

Tough spot, but now I see why we were so confident on our end when we took him as a transfer. It didn't make a lot of sense at first, but never heard of this NPO form. It is on their LRC Guidelines, Standards, and Directives document. Nowhere in the bylaws. Pretty rare situation too I guess. Of course we would expect that to be a shut and closed case. But from the opposition's perspective...

*3rd chance*

Or maybe a troll account lol

This wouldn't even be an issue if he were eligible for the one-time exception (first transfer/"2nd chance").

This speaks to about .001% of players...

It speaks to the *reality* for a tiny percentage, but recruiting is also heavily tied to perception. I promise you competitors will make it an issue, whether or not justified, and the longer and louder this gets the more damage it does.

I assume he dropped the lawsuit with the understanding they'd sign the paper and clear him. Think this pussyfooting will cause him to continue to pursue the suit now? I'd be pissed.

If USC feels the pressure, they can pick up the phone and ask NCAA to approve! If they want the pressure and bad publicity to go away. It’s in USC’s hand also not just NCAA as they suggest.
Sounds like they’re supporting the NCAA waiver so maybe that did that but ultimately they don’t have control over the NCAA. Just sucks they couldn’t have signed the NPO but I understand the legal ramifications
