I do like him (which is irrelevant in any case) and I do think he will win here and win big ! There are no guarantees of course, but watching the way he goes about his business and runs his program without a lot of press leaks and drama and his passion for winning along with his work ethic I think he's the man for the job. Just need some breaks next year to help us to 8 wins to get the big recruiting ball rolling and we'll be on our way. Just my opinion.

True about uga and clemson, but CBJ did have to recruit against FIVE straight losing seasons. Good lawdie. I get ppl hate Butch, but lord the mental gymnastics you all go through to make everything negative. Butch did a lot wrong, recruiting was not one of them.

A lot of the recruits butch got were kids that were rated high that not many teams wanted so he kind’ve padded the stats on recruiting websites a bit, there were exceptions i.e Khalil, Jalen, Drew Richmond etc but if you go back and look at a lot of his recruits, the other offers they had usually left something to be desired, he also didn’t recruit guys to fit his system he just tried to get stars for the star gazers

So Butch tried to create the appearance of having good recruiting classes without actually doing so? That guy was slick, I swear he should join the CIA to hear some fans talk, or maybe he's been a member all along.

Seems that over a large enough data set this would be very unlikely, since rating and offers should, in theory, have a strong correlation. I'm sure there are particular examples, but has anyone actually ran an analysis of his entire classes, versus the average?

I'd be surprised if one school could pinpoint a bunch of highly ranked kids not offered by other p5 schools.

I am a big fan of Pruitt and I am not worried about this class. I really like it.

HOWEVER, Butch’s 32 player class was better according to 247 ratings no matter what way you look at it. If you use the class calculator to drop the bottom 9 signees, the class score drops from 276 to 274. The way they calculate it means the bottom guys don’t count for much. That would also bring the average rating up as well.

Here’s the thing. I fully believe that Pruitt’s hit rate on recruits will be much higher than Butch.

I was upset about not getting the dream finish to this class. It was a dream that Pruitt almost made a reality. That got my hopes up. Wright and Pickens will be a fine finish as well though! Go look at the returning starters plus the transfers/enrollees/signees and it might back some of you off the BVS ledge 😆. Looks like we will be solid if we get improvement at the QB AND OL positions. Coach em up and win so we get some high rated 2020 LBs. Looking at the probable depth chart made me feel better. Sure would have been nice to have HT and/CR but its not a season ender or program killer. Go Vols!!!!

Not bashing Pruitt and hated the Butch hire. Fact is he couldn't close on HT, but what's worse is not recruiting the dline well. He missed on several dline targets and pass rushers this year. Slow played to many.

it's well documented he feels ok with what's on campus.

next year is year for defensive needs.

this coach is going after the best. if that bothers you, i suggest you find your safe place.

Crouch lost his spot? Are you serious? He could have played at any school in the country and no one would have told him no. That's just asinine.

Yeah, we suck right now but there is a middle ground. Pruitt seems like an actual football coach. His peer reviews are glowing and I, for one, love the way he conducts himself. Reminds me of my old coaches. Give it another year or 2 before you start railing on the guy.

Has Pruitt let any kids commit/sign and then pull their scholly at the last minute? Didnt Butch leave some players searching on signing day for a home?

What if the lower rated kids commit early or try to sign LOI but then HT and other big fish want in and he pulls some in state offers! That is worse than slow playing a kid IMO and would burn more bridges with high schools, especially instate.

We run a 3-4 under Pruitt versus a 4-3 under Butch. You do realize that's a system where you ask your d-lineman to hold gaps mostly instead of penetrating? I agree we need help there but we need help basically everywhere. We have a long way to go.

Year 2 is the year where we find out how good our off-season training is. That's where you win championships: how hard you work during the off-season. This year will only tell us how effective our strength and conditioning is. And how many players have bought in. 7 or 8 regular season wins is a success in my eyes. We don't have the depth the elite teams do right now.

Please stop with the BS. Butch got top 10 classes because of sheer numbers and thats it. He brought in 61 players over a 2 year span. Pruitt can only bring in 50. So Georgia just turned down one of the best players in their state because of depth? Flat out lie. Morris is a Vol because Pruitt got him.

Plus factor in that Butch didnt have to deal with the ESD. Your posts are misinformed and stupid at the same time.
