Hoping for the best, I feel we got a shot here but you never know. This one has been played close to the vest by him and his family. I like the fact Pruitt got the last visit. GBO!

Wow, I didn’t realize what I was in for coming to this thread! I was trying to get info on HT and where UT stands with him. Mostly I read why we are struggling, how bad BJ and Dooley hurt our program, how good other programs recruit, CJP can’t close on recruits, other schools do more with less and on and on and on....can I just please get an update on HT?

Imo nobody knows where he going. Signs are pointing mostly to bama but all 3 schools have a reasonable confidence to land him. There is still hope but this one could go either way. Washington may be the biggest threat. They’re much closer to home and they got the last visit. Tennessee got the last in home visit and bama has always been a threat. So imo he could be still be deciding. Hope it’s for the good guys tho. If not us hope he stays out west.

Is it true that Derek carried a table top to restaurants? Rumor has it that the top had a name plate which said “Coach Derek Dooley - Please Do Not Disturb”. He would sit there and eat in public on his table top, let everybody know who he was, but didn’t want to talk to the plebs.

Yes, because that's what matters... Dooley never came close to sniffing 9 win seasons. Butch's best classes were enough to get us over the hump for a short while. Certainly more talent between the #4 and #7 classes than anything Dooley had.

They both about stunk the same in developing though.

I agree but Dooley never lost 8 games in a season. Butch is the worst coach in history because of that.

What “hump” did we get over with Butch? Didn’t so much as win a down SEC East. Bowl game hump?

Agree that neither Dooley nor Botch could develop players. They were also great at killing a prigram’s culture, with Jones getting the nod there by leaving the more toxic situation. They were actually similar in a lot of ways....recruiting, no player development and running the UT program into a ditch. By all accounts, Dooley is a much better guy than Butch.

Did Butch ever lose 8 games in a season?

Either way, does a 1 game difference (versus 5-7) mean more than the difference between a winning rate of 59% vs 42%?? That is legitimately stupid.

Dooley was easily the worst coach ever the history speaks for itself. You all really let your hate for a guy blind you.

Let's see, how about the hump of 3 straight losing seasons (4 out of 5 before he got here)? The hump of not winning a bowl game. The hump of beating UF. The hump of not even competing for the East since 2007. The hump of terrible APR and finances

The program as a whole is easily better off from a bird's eye view, partly due to Hart as well.

We suck. Why does it matter who the worst coach was? 5-7, 4-8.... They're both unequivocally terrible.. Dooley and Butch were both dumpster fires hired by an incompetent administration. Let's focus on trying to not do that again. Pruitt's status has yet to be determined but he at least talks like an actual football coach. I hope it works out but it remains to be seen.
