'19 CA LB Henry To'oto'o (Tennessee Signee)

I guess my point is that I expected him to recruit closer to the top 5 than the top 15 with the coaches he brought with him. Tee is a definite upgrade in recruiting. I will say we need to be recruiting better at rb, wr, dl, and lb. He has this year, and maybe part of next year before the Legion of the Miserable start their crap. He better get to moving.
Which coaches exactly did you expect to recruit at a high level?

No, all of that is on the staff. They are paid millions to motivate these players.
These aren't players that chose this staff to play for so it's hard to motivate someone when they don't give a crap about what you have to say, can't blame that all on the coaches

Given that Pruitt, Neids, and Friend are the only names you hear with the big names, I would say all of the rest of them. What has Sherrer, Rumph, Rocker, Fair, and Kelly done so far? On the offensive side of the ball where is Weinke's IMG connection? Johnson can coach them up, but he hasn't been able to recruit them in yet either. Tee should be a big help here in recruiting, but it's a wait an see for me. I definitely expected more from Weinke, Sherrer, Rocker, and Rumph to specifically answer your question.

This answer makes more sense. But it doesn’t jive with your original statement. Nieds wasn’t a big staff member coming in.

What part of my original statement does it not jive with? My point that I've stumble into is that only 2 coaches are recruiting at a high level. Pruitt might close like Fulmer if he gets some help here. Did you thing that Weinke, Sherrer, Rocker, and Rumph would recruit better? I didn't expect much out of Fair since this is really his first job.

Pickens and To'oto'o ain't coming. This is a decent class, and could end up being the best we've had in a long time, but saying it's better than that 2010 or 2014 class before any of them ever play a down is ridiculous. Those classes had some of the greatest players in school history, and this one is highlighted by 2 linemen and a guy with a history of injuries that will be playing a position he's basically never played before

You have no way of KNOWING who isn't coming. Stop being a jackwagon.

Otherwise, all recruiting classes should be judged by what they accomplish on the field... but seldom are.

All the negative complaining about the 4* & 5* recruits we may, or may not get, and how we are not doing good, makes me really wonder about many of our fans on these boards.

I am so thankful Coach Rick Barnes has the NR. 1 TEAM IN AMERICA WITH NOT ONE 4* OR 5* RECRUIT ON THIS TEAM.

Good coaches make more difference than star count. I trust the coaches we have to know what a prospect looks like; not what some yo-yo sitting in an office somewhere deciding who can, or cannot play.
It's kinda comparing apples and oranges, but I see where you are going with this. While it does help in football to have more star talent they still need coached up. I believe this staff has the ability to do so. There will be some that say last year there wasn't enough improvement shown, but I argue the talent we had at that time was at no point coached up prior to this staff. I look for vast improvements in year 2. I will gladly eat crow if I am wrong. I'm not going to throw out a wins Vs loss projection, but believe we will be better and better coached. Go Vols!!!!

Until UT can get half the good players in TN and end up with a top 5 class like UF or UGA do... UT's recruiting will always depend on a coach good enough to find 5* talent with 3* labeling. UT has historically had more than its share of 5* busts... but maybe a little more than its share of 3* standouts.

I think it was your expectations of top 5 finishes based on the hires.

If you want to make a point at least be factual. Florida has not had a Top 5 recruiting class since 2013.

It's been a while since UF had a top 5 class. Certainly longer than us.
