'18 CA QB JT Shrout (UT signee)

So someone who doesn't turn the ball over and completed 62% on the season and 65.1% vs SEC teams makes the wrong decision 90% of the time?

What do you think of this Shrout kid then? He only completes 50% for a 1/1 td int ratio vs high school teams.

He is a deer in the headlights

Just a name to watch for next year, QB Ross Malmgren. Will end up a 4 star and Tn is his dream offer. Might be a deal where he commits as soon as offered and I think he will be, recruiting is going to explode for him. :hi:

Start a thread on him, por favor.

If UT takes a look at a grad QB, I would give Wilton Speight a look.

No need. JG will be aight if Oline improves

I believe this as well.

I'm not against bringing in more competition, but I firmly believe that the kids on this team haven't been introduced to the level of coaching needed to win in the SEC. I think the new coaching staff will bring the best out of everyone, and we see some players in a whole new light.

It's not a coincidence that virtually every highly touted recruit brought in under the previous regime has underachieved.

JG really does not have the "it" factor.. TBD

The guy showed he has the it factor at the end of the SC game. Threw a beautiful pass and Brandon Johnson dropped it.

Showed that it factor in the LSU game when he was hyping up his terrible offensive line that was getting him killed. He’s a leader

Showed that it factor when he almost threw a Hail Mary to beat KY.

JG is going to be AIGHT

He was throwing crossing routes against a prevent defense with a non existent pass rush. We drove down the field at the end because SC allowed us do with their Chavis prevent defense.

And to be honest, the clock operator definitely bailed us out with 1 second left on the game clock that allowed us one extra play.

He still threw a dime that Johnson dropped

1000% Agree!!! Look for this guy to start his second year! Maybe even sooner.

Serious speculation. I really like J.T. and what appears to be a really strong skill set.

But playing qb at this level is as much, probably more about intangibles than it is physical talent. We don’t know his composure, his ability to process information quickly, his ability to pick up and master an offensive scheme, even his passing accuracy. Whole lotta unknowns.

Well look at the UA/UGA/OSU model. Talented kids at qb asked to play within a system and manage. Each in a different way, but it can be done

Honestly, all three showed some skills last year. On the other hand, they didn't seem to connect the dots. The learning progression from their natural talent to running the offense with confidence never happened. We have at least two staff members with QB as part of their job description. Surely we'll see a change.

That's true of anyone

Is he enrolled or is he not here til summer?

Imo makes a huge difference... JT is the future for sure but I’m hoping to see JG be successful, has the highest ceiling of those who were here last year, but needs coaching in the pocket and help from receivers!!

UGA has 3 5* QB's. We have a 4* and 2 3*'s. Who do you think is going to win the UGA/TN game the next 3-4 years? We need a great QB in the 2019 class.

He had to push his neck agenda, no matter how stupid, and hypocritical.

You see there was no answer.

I fail to see why anyone thinks he ever starts here. We have better qbs on the roster and if we don't recruit better qbs than him there will be a riot. I see him backing up JG then whatever 4/5 star we get.
