'18 CA QB JT Shrout (UT signee)

I don't agree with this. Kiffin took a broken Jonathan Crompton his senior season and turned him into arguably the hottest QB in the SEC the 2nd half of the season.

It won't take long for a good OC to make a difference with the QBs. Assuming QD doesn't transfer, I would say all our QBs are in play.

Trust me. I want nothing more than QD toncome out next year and light it up. I was alluding to the fact that we have a QB situation that isn’t gonna be easy to handle even though we have recruited our QB of the future who can Red shirt next year.

That statement wasn’t true under Butch. A main reason he lost too many games and eventually his job

Yeah but he got fired for this season and the last 5 games of last year.

We had the best QB on our roster playing when we still had close unexplainable losses.

Butch’s main problem is that he got snake bit early in his career regarding QB and it bit him hard. Dobbs should have been a redshirt Senior or at worst, Ferguson a redshirt junior.

You weren’t keeping BOTH. No matter the coach.

Butch's problem was that he made too many promises and played his buddies kids regardless of doing the right thing for the program. As a result he heard and listened to all the outside noise. All of those things compounded and just steam rolled down hill.

Shrout is a good prospect but won't see the field until JG/QD both leave. They were all held back by Butch. Shrout will rs and hope to beat out whatever highly ranked qb we get the next year or two when JG leaves.

He won't play over two qbs that were higher ranked qbs, with better numbers, and better film in high school. QD and JG got a ton of praise nationally from all types of NFL and college guys.

So you think Pruitt will choose a starter based on their high school results? I'm pretty sure you are wrong.

Another silly conspiracy. :loco:

Butch played too much to recruiting instead of his own team. If he had a real big target at a position it seemed as though he was afraid to play someone that may take that spot and turn off a kid to where he can't pitch playing time. Butch was about bells and whistles and no substance

I agree with that. One of my complaints despite being on-board. This was a response to the suggestion that Dormady won the starting spot by getting engaged to Butch’s goddaughter. He made a ton of bad decisions including player moves. We don’t need to invent crap to pile on.

Who cares ? Why bother trying to defend anything he did?

Hate mob mentality. Ain’t even about DEFENDING. Just keeping things straight. Goofy conspiracy theories make us all look like goobers. Don’t “care” for that, personally. :)

I actually take it back to his first year. It was almost a forgone conclusion he was gonna start Peterman at Florida. When it became clear we were toast at Oregon, Peterman should have started the second half.

He had no business making his first start in the Swamp.
Butch couldn’t handle a QB change. A change at QB is very different at Cincy compared to UT.

The QD one is a little out there, but I'm not sure about Jumper.

I think it's possible that there was some truth to it. It was obvious he wasn't a SEC type LB, but yet Butch ran him out there. Of course, Butch kept Martin And Moseley out there too, so that probably means the theory is BS and Butch is just an idiot

I wasn't really disagreeing with you on QD's behalf just because I want QD to win the starting spot back. I don't really care who it is; I just want one of the QBs to step up and thrive in this offense. I only was disagreeing that QD entering next season as a senior means he should be written off, because with good coaching it doesn't take long to correct bad habits. But personally I don't care who wins the starting job as long as they are the guy who earned it.

For me to buy the Jumper stretch, I’d have to sign off that Hart, Butch and Jancek/Shoop were in on the fix. Butch alone couldn’t order it or cover it up. Both Jancek and Shoop endorsed the kid. No way Daddy Jumper solicits Butch without Hart having knowledge. Then I’d have to believe that a massive sum of money was funneled to all of these people and others without a peep. It would need to be a massive sum of money to have Hart, Butch and Shoop risk their livelihoods (and millions in salary). Even more to silence Jancek after he was unceremoniously booted. All that meted out so his kid could start? With Byrd alone being wasted out of position for two seasons, we know messing up came free.

Isn't it possible, all conspiracy theories aside, that Jumper must might, I repeat might, have been the best we had at that time?
