‘23 CA QB Nicholaus Iamaleava (Tennessee)

it’s going to be very interesting to see if he still takes visits. I know he cancelled his trip to Georgia but IMO I never saw them as an option in this one.

I watched it. Any SMU fan from 40 years ago still alive has most likely developed a sense of perspective. Lot of money in that alumni and without the death penalty they’re a member of the Big 12 and in good standing. But AD’s are never going to go unscathed if their signature is on a check paying off a player. They messed up hugely when you had to be extraordinarily sloppy to get caught cheating.

They are all-in on Arch. I was kind of thinking once Arch picked his spot the losers would come for Nico but we've kind of marked our territory here with this deal.

He did not want to play in a 1968 offense.
They had a top 10 scoring offense last year. They run a pro style, they recruit the linemen to do it, more other teams would too if they could get the linemen. I guarantee you Heupel will not be afraid to go run heavy if we can get the horses to do it.

There is no clawback feature. If he signs with any D1 football program he has abided by his requirement. The only way the $350k could become an issue is if he went Juco or decided to skip college. The $2m a year would be gone if he signed somewhere else, but the $350k is his regardless if he signs at TN, Oregon, Georgia, USC, or hell, even Rutgers.

The collective can’t have anything about TN in his contract, because that’s illegal. It’s all hush hush, but he’s basically being paid $350k as a placeholder to commit here, with $8m promised as future incentive if he does.

But if he got pissed and signed anywhere else, he’d still get the $350k

Reading the Gump message boards is hilarious. Talking about us CHEATING with Nico… “that’s against ncaa rules”. Like their program isn’t the dirtiest in the country for decades. How do they think they got all of those 5 stars through the years? Now it’s a issue if Tennessee gets some traction with NIL… Lol what a joke. Can’t wait to crush them again. Long time coming

They get Internet service in the Trailer Parks? Didn’t know that

Brother can you spare a link?

So we basically gave him $350k and hope a 18yr old will keep his "word", yet he can still sign anywhere he wants and nothing TN can do about it?
Did "we" give him something?

I don't know exactly how those deals are structured but I suspect that the player has to be able to deliver something of value within a particular market or geographic area. Seems like that would be the best way of saying "Sign with my team" without actually saying it.
