Nike is pretty invested in OR. Don't know how it's panning out in the NIL space currently, but they certainly have access to a donor that has weight. Chip Kelly used it to his advantage when he was there...I could see them being a major player for west coast recruits if Nike flexes.Oregon can’t offer anything. However, do they have an organized, well funded NIL partner that is ready to compete with SEC schools? I didn’t think so.
Nike won't invest in paying players directly when they sponsor most schools. Phil Knight only helps with facilities and funding at OregonNike is pretty invested in OR. Fair enough, but if they did decide to flex and create a consortium through influence, they could certainly rival SEC money. But to your point, would they feel like they are crossing a corporate vision line. I wouldn't if I were Knight, but I also wouldn't have made a bunch of decisions he's made in the past few years.Nike won't invest in paying players directly when they sponsor most schools. Bias in our favor, if anything. Stewart has also recently said if he could be a part of any fanbase in the SEC, it would be Tennessee and the Vol Navy. Anywho, he has actually seen the contract, these chaps I have been talking to haven't seen anything, and are just talking out of their azz, which annoys me.That doesn’t mean he’s free from bias. I don’t understand why you put so much weight on that article - or why you even care ab the contract.
1. Oregon can’t offer him moneyHe will if Oregon offers 10 mil
Yeah. What kind of dweeb school gets put under NCAA suspicion.1. Oregon can’t offer him money
2. Tennessee has 3 prominent billionaires compare to Oregon’s 1 heading their booster club. They wouldn’t win a bidding war.
3. I doubt Nike would get involved especially after Oregon got put under NCAA suspicion of impermissible inducement.
