Cal to Arkansas

I will say that there are very few names that actually scare me at Kentucky, and most of the names on that list are highly unlikely.

Dan Hurley and Jay Wright aren’t taking that job like Kentucky fans think.

The only “realistic” name that scares me is Nate Oats. If it ends up being Scott Drew, that’s fine by me.

I would hope Drew doesn’t take it. He is someone I would want us to go after when Barnes retires.

This is what I don't understand about White: Southern Cal needs a coach--hires a coach away from Arkansas. Arkansas
needs a coach--tries to hire away from Mississippi and then Kansas State, ends up hiring away from Kentucky!

Tennessee women (8 national titles, still a high-profile program in a sport that this year got more notice and higher
TV ratings than ever, etc.) need a coach. Two former Vol players--neither of whom had been a major-college winner--failed to
bring the program back to national-contender status, and so most everyone agreed that, after two weak hires, White needed
to hire a proven winner at the major level. Go big, for a change--hire away a winner from another mayor. And what does White do?
He goes small, very small--and cheap: hires a coach 1 year removed from coaching a Div. II college in nowhere West Virginia. Has exactly 1 year of Div. 1 experience--and
that at a mid-major. She had a good year at the mid-major (Marshall)--but c'mon. Totally lame--and even more lame is how the AD
is trying to sell the hire. I don't think he even tried to hired a major-college coach--he was going small from the get-go. Weird, baffling,
annoying. And don't try to spit on women's basketball: It was UT's premier program for many years and generated a TON of national
publicity for the school. And since Summitt retired we've been an also-ran--thanks for a series of dumb, lazy, cheap hires.
Meh....women's college basketball? Pffttt. Put your money where it will actually bring a ROI.

Hurley is a pipe dream and is the king at a job arguably better than UK right now. Oats should be the same given what he's built and where that program is going, but he's a weird guy who just might make the jump. Drew has resisted moving up to now, and seems like he's at his last job, but who knows? Pitino is a wild card in that he knows he only has 2-3 seasons left, and the pressure wouldn't bother him at this point - why not take one more shot at it? Donovan? Please, make that move. He's been away from the college game too long. Who have I missed?

Also Hurley only has 3 seniors right now. They win tonight, he literally has the easiest shot at a 3 peat with most of the same roster coming back.

Yeah, this hire by DW looks weak, almost like the basketball version of Derick Dooley. I've always felt that if you don't have a top tier replacement, then why make a change
? It's not like the program was in the dumps or under investigation for some infraction--they just set high expectations that may be too hard to meet in just 3 or 4 years.

Clingan and Castle are projected top 8-12 picks. Tonight will likely be the last time they play for UCONN. Hurley will certainly be able to make a splash in the portal, but they’re likely losing four starters.

Comparing her to Derek Dooley? He barely had winning seasons at his G5 school. Holy moly.

How is Stephens like Dooley? Dooley had a losing record as a head coach. Stephens, in her one year as a D1 coach, took a program to the tournament for the first time in over 25 years. She could turn out to be a bust, but she’s not remotely comparable to Dooley.

She is 217-31 in her career. Finished 1st in her conference 7/8 years (1 2nd). Made the tourney ever year and has a NC (DIV II). That's not too shabby

Dooley was 17-20 prior to TN lol.

We've seen your wild & crazy takes in the LV forum. Don't bring that nonsense here in a normal forum. It's obvious you don't like or think DW is a good/smart AD but he's picked winners at every stop & job hiring he's had to do. Either sit back and watch or dont watch but to spit off judgement cause it's not a "big name" or "big school" hire is absolutely uninformed & ridiculous lol.. just cause you can post dumbsh!t and noone know who you are doesn't mean you should. Let the keyboard buttons rest some.

What a terrible comparison

Wow.... never post again. I've seen some dumb comparisons but I think that one takes the cake. KC has been a winner at every stop she's made.. Dooley had a losing record before getting hired here. Do some research before you post. 🤦‍♂️

Hurley would be an idiot to even consider going to UK.

UCONN right now is a better job and has them rolling.

Nate Oats I could I see leaving but even then, Bama has the pockets to keep him.
