Caleb Williams Heisman winner.

Why does everyone just accept that a USC deserves an automatic bid to a playoff game. Just because they dominate their conference we pretend that an Sec team is automatically excluded

CJ Stroud was 3rd behind caleb last year. Hooker was not even considered. Tcu's qb was 2nd, and he got destroyed by ga in the National championship. That qb Bennett was 4th. Time for some Heisman accountability.

I understand your rant and support it. But USC has never made the playoff….right? And it’s been awhile since they dominated the PAC-12.

Not to worry, they aren’t making it this season either. Washington or Oregon might though. Who knows?

Caleb Williams is a generational talent who put up insane stats last year. I don’t like the guy and hope he fails but come on, watch the dude play. It’s unreal. 42 TD and 5 INTs last year plus the plays…

Again, don’t like him. But you haven’t seen him play enough or you don’t know what you’re looking at if you’re just worried about the talent he’s played.

Great point. My argument was more about the fact that Caleb won. I felt that there were more deserving candidates. Shroud was my pick, and Usc ranked higher than tennessee. Seemed unfair. I know Hinton was hurt but I felt he did more fore his team than any other.

Usc seems to have an advantage in the cfp rankings.

Agreed, I can’t stand USC but Williams is a great player. There is a reason that Kirby Smart and every other major coach tried to get him when he entered the portal.

I don't want to be the guy who questioned a generalitional talent, but should we consider teams he has played. Let's not forget he will probably be unranked Tommorro

Strongly disagree on generational talent. He is a talented player, but has been piss poor against decent defenses. Saw a post on reddit earlier this week that gave some stats. Prior to today, he has played 5 games against P5 top 25 defenses. 4 of those games were terrible (0, 1, 1, 1 TD vs 2, 1, 0, 3 INT), one was pretty good ('21 Ok St, 20-39 3TDs). That's it, 5 decent defenses in his entire college career prior to today. He's a slightly more athletic Spencer Rattler. Absolutely laughable to consider him a generational talent.

He beat 12 notre Dame right. Tennessee beat how many ranked teams? I just feel that sec teams are not equally judged

I checked Tennessee beat at least 3 ranked teams last year. Ga beat 7. Ga also beat a #1 tenn, #2 tcu, # 3 ohio st, and a #7 oregon in the first game. I won't count all the other games that Tenn and the Sec beat last year. How many games do they have to win before it counts

Clearly Hinton was the best Sec player last year. I believe the Sec is the best conference. If Hinton was not the best Sec player, and Stroud was not the second best in the big 10, then why is Caleb's team about to be unranked?

I did not know those coaches recruited him thru the portal. I still disagree with him being recognized as the best college football player.

Yeah, when Williams hit the Portal Smart tried to get him. I don’t think it was ever in doubt that Williams was following Riley to USC, but Kirby did try to get him.
I was not aware of that, but do you believe he was the best player of 2022? Anyone else?
