Calexit!

I wasn't, I just find it bizarre that the right is so fixated on the straw ban. I personally don't g.a.s., but can understand the damage that plastics do to the environment on a large scale. Plastic grocery bags are next I'd wager, I understand that too.
So pointing at it and laughing our asses off about it is “fixated on it”?🤪

'Sidewalk irrigation technician' is a very liberal use of the term "police."

Agree , so I totally expect the straw police will probably be called something like .. “illegal hydration removal inspector “

They're ahead of you on that. Not banned but it's like 10 cents per bag.

I just find it funny they went all out on bad data a grade school kid came up with. And the fact they don't even consider the recycling aspect.

People try and

People try and suck up to him for some reason and claim he’s just trolling or whatever.

He really is as stupid as the things he posts.

As incredibly stupid as I am (and I am borderline retarded) - you've never come out ahead in our discussions, not once. In fact, I've very rarely seen you mix it up with anyone and not resort to name calling and chest thumping as your fallback position. You probably need to take some time off and collect yourself, eat a Snickers - you seem angrier than usual.

Recycling of the straws or bags? I don't even think that those bags are eligible for recycling, at least not here anyway. Not all plastic is...

I don't think Publix charges for bags but I can't be sure about that since I don't do much of the shopping. I think that kids balloons are on the chopping block next.

That's not what it says, but you know that. They plan on enforcing it, first with warnings then with fines - just not jail time. It literally took me 15 seconds of researching your repeated claim to find the quote in the previous post. Cmon GV, a little effort.
His point was that even your quoted article says there are jail sentences in the verbiage. Gov't writing laws they say they will not enforce is just as believable as them passing taxes they claim they will never collect.

Think of the trees!

You predicted that the self-proclaimed troll became the trollee?

Hmm. I don’t remember that....

I wasn't trolling anyone, as is typical - your vitriolic attack on me was unprovoked.

I'm genuinely curious, does it make you feel tough to call anonymous people names?

The admission that's it's in the municipal code without recognizing that they are having the ordinance changed to not include jail time is disingenuous as an argument. They are very clearly not seeking jail as a penalty for infractions, warnings and subsequent fines was the intent and it sounds like they intend to enforce.

It sounds like the timing of your argument is off. Once they've changed the law, your point will stand.

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with.”

Both. But yes, plastic bags are the same material as a soda bottle. The problem is one of bulk and the ease of just tossing them out.

As for the straws, I see no reason they couldn't be recycled. All plastics can be to some extent.

Oh I know you weren’t trolling anyone. You don’t troll. Someone mentioned you were trying to get a rise. You do believe the things you post.

I said you are a self-proclaimed troll. If you’re going to argue, at least get it right.

Also - tough? No. I tell it how it is. However, I am superior to you in every way. It clearly makes you feel weak though.

I'm curious as to what makes you feel generally superior to others.

You don't make much money. You don't really take care of anything or anyone that doesn't directly benefit yourself. You aren't educated. You aren't *remotely* as intelligent as you perceive yourself to be. You have an odd attraction to women with childlike features. You somehow supersede me (someone who uses this website as a Lewis Black method of catharsis) in the ad hominem/meltdown department. Finally, your opinions ain't **** and are rarely, but poorly, substantiated.

It's rare that I am willing to grab a beer with someone out of pure, unabashed pity. So, I'm deeply curious. Do you *actually* see yourself as great or is it the obvious front for crippling anxiety that I think it is?
