Calexit!

And what's going to happen in Cali when they start taxing there **** out of the "rich" to pay for their social programs?

You think those Hollywood liberals and industrialists are going to just sit back and be happy when they get taxed at 50% or more?

With the money saved in federal taxes by the state, they won't have to raise taxes.

Don't drop back and punt now. You've outed what you really think of Southerners and, by reference, the poor on welfare. They're too helpless and hapless to survive without their welfare. Pretty despicable viewpoint if you ask me, but that's on you.

Personally, I believe that when bad, controlling, programs that incentive's laziness and dependence are removed, people's natural strengths overcome. And I would LOVE to see 80-90% of Federal funding removed from states. It would bolster state economies and return decision making to the smaller governments. The wasteful Federal government would lose almost all of its influence/control, and the budget would shrink to manageable size.

Didn't punt. waller in poverty doesn't equal shrink up and cease to exist.

No, of course the south wouldn't just dry up and cease to exist, but without much of the government funding they count on there would be a significant economic impact. BTW, the states hit the hardest would be Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, South Carolina...
"The south has survived by suckling at the government teet"
"...the south would lose the source of the funds they count on to survive."

Both of those statements as they are written imply "the south" could not and would not "survive" without (in this specific case) California, not just the feds.

Now if you go with just the idea that there would be an impact you don't come off goofy. The idea that the south wouldn't and couldn't thrive without California is pure speculation.

Your thoughts on this play for California and the union?

Your liberal outlook on the poor is duly noted. I wish we could put it on banners and free the poor from their oppressive overlord liberals like a Matrix unplug. But I will give you kudos on taking the mask off and being honest.

Lol. Because socialist / communist states are known for their low taxation rates.

You fall and hit your head putting on your high heels this morning?
Methinks he was so shocked at the thought of future politics with such an altered electoral college, the mask fell off and the Reptilian beneath flickered into view. lol

Considering my poor ancestors mostly voted D because they thought "they re for the little man", the irony is interesting.

You really are having fun misrepresenting my comments as a condemnation on the poor.

Much of California’s power is imported from Nevada and Arizona, too. Let them secede and, when they do, we will place a tariff on every electron pumped into the confines of the Divided Socialists Republic of California.

Or ability to keep businesses and population in state.

The first paragraph of my above link:

California is facing a bigger issue than its tussle with the Federal government over sanctuary cities. According to a November report from the U.S Census Bureau, the Golden State has had 142,932 more residents exit to live in other states than people arriving from other states. This domestic outmigration was the second largest outflow in the U.S. behind New York and New Jersey. It was up 11 percent (13,699 net departures) compared to 2015.

Mass Exodus from Blue States to Red States

According to United Van Lines, the top 10 states people are leavinginclude the blue states Wisconsin, Ohio, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Illinois. Only three red states made the list; Kentucky, Utah, and Kansas.

The top 10 states people are moving to include the red states Idaho, South Dakota, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Nevada and Colorado (the last two are purplish states).

...

People are leaving Los Angeles in droves, and blue California was rankedthe last state in the country for business 12 years in a row, according to Chief Executive magazine’s annual Best and Worst States for Business survey of CEOs. Red Texas ranked number one the past 12 years. One CEO complained in the survey, “States like California just don’t get it. At the rate they are going, who’s going to pay the bills with such an anti-business, leftist government and businesses leaving every month for Arizona and Washington state?” California has the highest state income tax in the country.

I don't think personal disgust is best phrased as "fun". I do think that your words betray what you want us to think you believe. How else should I take it when you say that people helped by others will never succeed unless they're helped by others? That's a big "NEVER", isn't it? It speaks to possibility. It's impossible for those lowly poor people to be anything but lowly poor people without your liberal handouts.

I wish the poor could see through the poli-speak to see what you liberals really think of them. It would end the left's unscrupulous usage of them.

The conservatives would help them pack and the liberals would chain them up in Washington's basement. If the California electorate seceded, there would never be another Democrat President.
Hell Yes. Take away Calis electoral votes and the federal money they get. Let’s make it happen.

California is such an economic mecca, but how many people in the metro Bay Area alone are homeless and/or receiving welfare benefits?

More than the number who receive them in the entire state of TN, I would guess. The south sucks, so please take our straws, too.

Why are you shocked that someone takes " the south would waller in poverty forever when they lost the source of funding of their welfare states." And not see that as condemnation.
