California Lunacy Thread

Don't forget all these "pro environment" "pro regulation" democrats trying to pull permits to rebuild to current codes. They are going to shat themselves.
these nutjobs are going kill any type of new construction and they'll be so expensive to build, they'll make sure the majority of those people will not rebuild.

They will also face much high building standards regarding earthquakes than were in existence when many of these homes were originally built.
those new regulations will do nothing to withstand an earthquake. newsom and his communist friends will make sure those million dollar homes are not built, but they'll plenty of multi-family immigrant apartments built for his constituents .

Excellent article.

Those who fall in the camp of "no amount of preparedness would have been enough for this" should read it thoroughly.

While the Santa Anna Winds were particularly fierce over the last few days, the scale of these fires grew and became out of control due to lack of forest management and mismanagement of city/county resources.

It is an absolute tragedy, and my heart breaks for those who have lost loved ones and all of their belongings.

I truly hope Angelenos vote and act accordingly to restore competency to their public offices.
they will vote the same way. no matter how many people suffer under liberal/communists rule

It’s obtuse to think they are not.
It is certainly more obtuse than it is presumptuous, but I think it is really more of a transparently partisan application of giving a benefit of the doubt than it is anything else.

LA's $750k-a-year Water Boss struggles to explain why fire Hydrants Ran Dry in Bumbling Video about inferno response

Los Angeles' water boss who makes $750,000 a year couldn't quite explain why fire hydrants have run dry during the disastrous wildfires in a bumbling video.

During a press conference Wednesday, Janisse Quiñones, the newly appointed chief executive officer and chief engineer of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, said all water storage tanks in the Pacific Palisades area 'went dry' as flames continue to rage on.

At least seven people have been killed and almost 180,000 forced to leave their homes amid the most destructive blaze in the county's history.

‘Lesbians Get it Done’: Pride Magazine Celebrates Gay Fire Chief’s Leadership as California Fires Rage

As the wildfires rage, a left-wing magazine is hailing Kristin Crowley, Los Angeles’s first LGBTQ+ fire chief, as proof that “lesbians get it done,” sparking backlash over priorities during the city’s historic disaster.

As the Palisades fire engulfs Los Angeles’ wealthy Pacific Coast neighborhoods, reducing more than 1,000 homes to rubble, the left-leaning PRIDE magazine’s celebratory portrayal of Fire Chief Kristin Crowley has ignited outrage.

Is there any proof of these arson theories ? I've seen it pop up here and there but all I've ever seen to support it is that the fires occurred in different places. Has there been any proof of it, do we know ?

Appears that way.

And agree with the last two comments. Although we're in a necessarily polarized state nationally and it's easy to say "they got what they voted for", there are a lot of conservatives in CA that are simply unseen in a one-party state. And, I'm sure, a lot of non-malevolent Democrats who are lever-pullers. Probably the majority of Californians deserve better, but either have no agency or don't understand what that looks like any longer.
