Call me old fashioned, but I would love to see the NCAA and the SEC in particular, crack down on trash talking. Do your talking between the snap and the whistle with your pads. Otherwise shut up the blabber.:banghead2:

Go to bed old man.

Or just dont care as long as it doesn't turn into an unnecessary roughness penalty

I don't mind the trash-talk.
What I mind is not being able to hear what the players are saying.
In my opinion, they should all be mic'd.

Speaking of talking trash. I watchd 30 for 30- the U. They skipped the a$$ whipping we gave them in the Sugar Bowl. I would love to have heard some of that trash talking! Go Vols!!!

Yeah, I saw that too!! No one from the U wants to talk about that night.

Trash talking helped to give Tennessee a victory over Florida in 2004. Check out the retaliatory head-slap by UF's Dallas Baker on UT's Jonathan Wade. It stopped the clock from running on 4th down thereby giving the Vol's enough time to get James Wilhoit into position to kick the 50 yd game-winner.

I just like to see them play real football and let them hit, instead of this flag football, we are nearly to the point that they don't need pads just flags in there pants instead of jock straps.

People trying to take the emotion out of the game is what is ruining it....

I love seeing trash talk, TD dances.... bring back Miami's old celebrations!

Won't happen. It's just another sign of the degradation of our society. Sportsmanship and civility are out and trash talking and rudeness are in.

Are you trying to say that trash talking is a new thing? It's as old as sports itself.

iirc, one of our defense players called their QB "Testes" on national TV after the game. :eek:lol:

I noticed that omission too. Just didn't fit the narrative of the story.

I agree but it's ok since the children approve.

Things have changed. Even Moderators on this board don't know they are supposed to moderate and not join in the flaming.

Not sure what the motivation for this thread is but I would say trash talking and celebrating was much "worse" back in the day. Remember all the dancing after big plays and touchdowns? Miami made it famous but everybody did it. Yes, even UT players. Especially in the 1980 and early 90s. As far as trash talking goes.....that's as old as the human race.
