There's trash talk every now and then in the PGA. Most of the trash talk comes after the tournament during the press conferences.

Golf is fun to watch.

That being said, trash talk will always be part of any sports. When you have competitive people they will lose their temper from time to time. You also have to deal with egos.

The only way to get rid of trash talking is to take the competition out of sports.

Call me old fashioned, but I would love to see the NCAA and the SEC in particular, crack down on trash talking. Do your talking between the snap and the whistle with your pads. Otherwise shut up the blabber.:banghead2:

Why? that's what makes it competitive.
Athletes love it. It's that 'ole psychological warfare. Getting in to someone's head.:neener:

I am ol fashioned as well. I believe the fkin kids themselves should have enough fkin dignity to keep their mouths shut and let their actions do the talking. That will never happen with the thuggish rogues that are the predominant participants these days. GO VOLS!

Yeah it's not like deacon jones, dick butkus, lawrence taylor, joe namath,or jack lambert would ever do such a thuggish thing as talking trash

The true "old fashioned" way of stopping trash talk is laying their a$$ out. Most guys won't continue running their mouths after taking a fierce hit.

Will never happen in that game. And you cant allow it during a play but not after the whistle. In a game all about testosterone and adrenaline....there will be bad words used...often...and Momma's are mentioned as well.

It's comical to pretend that trash talk just became prevalent. It was the same way 20 years ago.

Try since it started. It's a rough and tough game. It's not for everybody. Guy's like Dick Butkus are very mean individuals. In fact, old school football was rougher than it is now. Much.

Especially since they made the game more offense oriented.

I am Ole Fashioned but a man should be able to jump up and down and pound his chest after running through 4 or 5 beasts trying to stop him. I can see Convulsing to be a bit insane or dancing Booma shacka la for 5 minutes but lets let the guys celebrate!

I once saw Fuzzy Zoeller making fun of a fellow golfer for using cordovan shoe polish on his studs instead of brown. :eek:lol:

The best trash talking is none..acting like you were going to do something anyways. Run in for a touchdown? Yep just another day at the office. Toss a bomb into the endzone for a TD? Yep, knew that was going to happen.

imo..
