Cal's comments before & after game are very interesting. In speaking to Erin Andrews he said that he tells his players not to listen to him, just to go out there and play. Whyen she said wait till the players hear that they don't have to listen to you, he replied , it doesn't matter, they don't listen to me anyway.

When asked after the game why they had such a difficult time with the Vols zone, he said, we didn't prerpare for it. This one's on me. I didn't have the team ready for it.

IMO this demonstrates Pearl's superiorty as he outcoached Cal once again:):):salute::salute:

I made up my mind a long time ago if I ever have a chance to go D1 (I'm 14) I will never play for Kevin Stallings,JIm Calhoun, and John Calliapari.

Makes no sense to me. We play zone EVERY year against his Memphis teams because they are never consistent enough to beat a team with the three. How could he not have prepared for it?

Pearl is not a better coach than John Calipari...

Based on what? Pearl outcoaches him every time they play. Calipari is a better recruiter than Pearl, but that will be ok when Kentucky becomes his third program on probation.

This leaves out a lot of context also...

"We have some guys on the bench that have to play well for us that haven't. I'm telling them, 'Don't listen to me. You're listening too much. You care too much. Just go play.'"

- meaning they're doing too much thinking and not using their instincts enough on the court, not that he's literally just saying "f*** it, just go out-talent the other team..."

Calipari outcoached Pearl last year...

This year, no one was going to say Calipari outcoached Pearl unless Kentucky won by like 25+...kind of unfair expectations there, but he won.

I don't think it's unfair. When you have 4 first round draft picks in your starting five, you should beat this Tennessee team worse than what they did.

Did you live under a rock last year? If so, I guess that explains why you don't know that UK was an NIT team last year.

More recruiting ability than anything,a lot of coaches could coach this team very far into the tournament.

When they're freshmen, you can't expect them to start out on a 28-2 run every night. Calipari even predicted as much, literally right before the game.

We beat Kansas too. Is Pearl better than Bill Self now?

Try to be logical, man. I didn't even say Pearl was better than Cal; I just pointed out that you acting like Cal is being held to too high of a standard is ludicrous, which it is.

Expecting freshmen to play consistently and win by 20+ points against every top-15 team is pretty ludicrous, I'd say...
