You can't believe anything he says. I have been wondering if it is better to get McDonald's AAs and they come one and done or to have lower rated star players who will stay at least 2 or 3 years? I would invite some opinions on this. The one and dones seem to be working for KY this year so far, but wonder over a period of 2 or 3 years it would result in championships. Of course KY has veterans like Patterson to mix in with the phenoms.

You're basically asking whether it's better to have potential NBA stars, which Kentucky has, or a few borderline second-round picks like we do. The answer shouldn't be that difficult...

Does it even matter whether Pearl would beat Calipari with equal talent? (He wouldn't.) Most people here are essentially taking a moral victory from this game, which would make sense if Pearl could get past the Sweet Sixteen and Calipari didn't keep making Final Fours. It's pretty obvious by now that regardless of what happens during the season, Calipari is going to go further in the tournament. The last time Pearl beat Calipari was two years ago, and--guess what!--it didn't matter in the tournament again. The people here who actually believe that Pearl is a better coach are blatant and ridiculous homers.

Pearl is not a better coach than John Calipari...

wow. wrong. pearl is clearly a better coach. calipari is just a better recruiter. its not hard to win when you have what, three or four definate first round picks.

No. No No No. What is UKs goal? Have a bunch of potential "NBA Stars" or you know, win National Titles? You think Kentucky is going to win this year? HAHAA NO. Then what happens? All of their "NBA Stars" leave. Rinse and repeat. See how that works lil mama?

If true, then isn’t recruiting a part of coaching?!?

they may not win it all but they will go farther in the tourney (SEC or NCAA) than UT this year. Seems like a pretty good trade

And when they get new ones, they'll still:

A. Beat us and
B. Go further in the tourney than we do

See how that works lil mama?

So Kentuckys sole goal is to be better than Tennessee now? :eek:lol:

Uh you must have missed the entire point of our conversation since you jumped in in the middle...

Pick the second one. Please.

What is Calaparis record vs Bruce? 3-2? WOW. How many of those 5 times did Tennessee have better talent than Calaparis team? 0. TALK ABOUT BEING OUT COACHED BY A MASTER

Then Bruce Pearl has been outcoached by the "masters" at Oklahoma State, Temple, Auburn, and Arkansas, to name a few, plus a couple coaches who got fired from Kentucky and Alabama but happened to sweep Pearl last year.

Ugh, you just conceded that Calapari isn't going to win a title with Option 1. I'm pretty sure Kentucky expects to and should win a title. So I'm not soing to pick option 1.

Not at all...he probably won't this year, but he will win a title at Kentucky. Pearl isn't going to...
