I believe Chizik's comments showed that the wheel he's steering isn't connected to the rudder of the ship, and he's too dumb to realize or admit it.

Your exactly right, he is either a Patsy or so damn high and mighty he thought he could say anything and not a damn thing happen. Guess he was wrong. He is definately a DA.

I was the same way. It was Trooper that has made me really hate them, well that and these damn obnoxious ass fans. Bama is still worse but AU is 1b. Its just tripled since they beat Oregon. Gene should have kept his mouth shut.

As one of my good friends (who happens to be a Bammer) said to me after the whole Newton thing came out: "Auburn fans are douchebags. With Bama fans, we're mostly stupid rednecks, but at least we're nice."

With it being confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing is a good thing. It took 22 months for them to do our investigation and Auburns is much more in depth and crooked. They will get theirs I hope.

Lol, they definately are some douchebags. But truthfully Bama has their A-Holes too. Alot of them are attorneys so they are sneaky Douches at that. Hoping they both destroy each other.Would love nothing more.:clapping:

Update from that web site I posted a couple of posts ago:

UPDATE
The interview is up in Part 1 and Part 2. Only Part 1 has Newton talk, though in Part 2 Sheridan expresses annoyance throughout that Finebaum is doing the interview while also fiddling with his smartphone.

The following is all according to Sheridan.

The NCAA thinks Newton was bought and paid for; it's all a matter of proving it now. Some amount of money went to Cecil Newton, while another amount went to Cecil's church. This money was handled by a "third party". The investigation has "revved up" since Chizik's outburst in Destin. The total amount is approximately $180-200K, with $20-30K having gone to the church. Sheridan has "no idea" if this is true.

This is a direct quote: "They're trying to get a third person, allegedly the bag man, to step forward, and if he steps forward, it'll be a bad situation. But I don't know that he will step forward. I don't know if they have any evidence. I don't want you to misquote me." This "third party/bag man" would be someone doing the work so the someone else's fingerprints are not on the transaction. This third party is not a "rogue alumni".

Sheridan's sources at the NCAA are "25 years old" (as in, he's had a sources there that long; it's not a twentysomething feeding him info) and have never mislead him. There are also 15 other schools being looked at, but he will not name them. They feel money changed hands in the Newton case, but if it can't be proven, the case "will be dropped in probably three-to-six months." Sheridan is not aware of any ongoing investigation of Mississippi State.

Confusingly, Sheridan later says that "Auburn had nothing to do with this" and that this third party "I won't say was working for a rogue alumni." I don't get what he's hinting at here. If the third party didn't do this with the school's knowledge and wasn't working for a rogue alumni, who is he and why did he get involved? Is he some sort of non-alumni booster? Two questions later, he says "if they are guilty of paying a student, not they but the alumni..." Huh?

Sheridan closes by saying the "they [the NCAA] think they know the third party, and they think they know the party that put up the money." That means the NCAA is looking at two entities here: someone who allegedly financed this alleged deal and someone who allegedly carried out this alleged deal. If the NCAA can remove the four "allegedly" instances out of that statement, Auburn's in deep trouble.

Bowden was the scapegoat and Chizik will be too.
The coaches are just doing what they have been told to do

Tubberville wouldnt play the game, thats why he was forced out

The investigation goes higher than the coaching staff

I thought Tubbs leaving the way he did was strange and to his credit he kept his mouth shut and followed the code when it would have been so easy to spout off.

Not me. This makes the SEC look very bad. We should just move on and leave this in the past. I'm sure there's a chance that Cam was bought, but I find it very hard to believe that Cam was the only guy playing in the SEC who was bought. It seems the NCAA will only investigate you if you win, I'm not stupid enough to believe that the losing teams are not cheating. This investigation will not change the fact that Cam was arguably the most dominant player that has come through the SEC. This old news, lets move on.

catch everyone cheating and then make them start over. Just because everyone else does it is no reason to cheat

When's the last time we gave the NCAA reason to investigate us, then?

My impression is that the NCAA is slow to investigate their cash cows (i.e. winners). USC, Oregon, AU... I think they've forced the NCAA into doing what they would rather not do.
