did you read the volnation article? bray just said that the coaches told him he is going to have a chance to start as a true freshman.

The coaches tell everyone that... and it is true. Everyone has the chance. i just dont think that the coaches have full confidence in him leading an SEC team as a freshman.

Next year, Bray will redshirt and that will be HUGE in his development later on down the road. They are gonna build him just like Leinart and Sanchez were imo...

If UT has any hope of winning the SEC in 2011, and I think they do, it would be best for Bray to play next year. I think he will. If Stephens was in any way going to be the future, Kiffin would have given him a chance when Crompton was coming under a lot of fire.

The coaches are gonna play who gives them the best chance to win, if its a Frosh or Sr it doesnt matter, its not about building towards 2011, or the future. its about winning right now, in the present.
Its gonna be the same way next yr. whoever gives us the best chance to win games will play, no matter what yr they are

I know it's a down year for QB's in the '10 class, but you seriously don't invest the resources and evaluate Newton AND Simms as JUCOs if you don't expect one of them to be your prime option at QB next season. Nick Stephens will have to prove a lot to win that job next year, IMO, but I don't think Bray is getting handed the reigns either, I just don't see it.

And I think Newton has good, not great, seasons at MSU. I think he'll show his value, but I don't necessarily expect 10-2 seasons either. They may make two bowls in a row though with Newton at the helm.

Bye Cam.

I really wanted this guy, but it seems that his attitude has gotten the best of him. Have fun in Miss St,

Kiffin wants to get his qb playing his system. if bray has a good spring and summer he will be under center next fall.

I'm not so sure. If UT wants to win the SEC in 2011, they don't want a first year starter. UT probably won't be able to compete for the conference title next year, so if playing Bray gives UT a better chance in 2011, then if he is even close to Stephens, he should play. However, I think he'll probably be able to beat out Stephens.

This could very well happen, but if Kiffin feels like Bray gives us the best chance to win games, he will start. It's impossible to speculate who will start right now. It completely depends on each QB's work effort and their showing in the spring. Everyone will get their fair shake. Bray redshirting may be the best case scenario, but it will take someone else beating him out for that to happen.

Exactly. If Bray comes in and learns the offense well enough to be close to Stephens/Simms/Lamaison, I expect him to play. I certainly dont have direct access to the coaches to know their opinion of Bray like some on here seem to.....but, its fairly easy to see that, as far as physical talents go (arm strangth, accuracy etc.) Bray is easily just as, if not more talented than any other QB that will be on the depth chart next year (unless Sims comes in and blows everyone away......dont know much about him, but read that he has an arm on the weak side). Lamaison, IMHO, is not a SEC-caliber QB, he was for depth. Stephens wasn't and isn't good enough to warrant a shot on the field, even back when JC was playing worse than any QB in the country. Unless, like I said before, Matt comes in here and lights it up.....I just dont see how Bray gets red-shirted.....not with the complete lack of talent we have at his position.
