Can Milton win the Heisman?

Joe would need to throw for 3000 plus yards and around 30 TDs along with a few rushing scores. Ten-win regular season as well. I would lean towards no but JH has proven he works magic with QBs. The performance Milton had in the orange bowl does give me optimism.

Joe won't even sniff the Heisman with those numbers.

No! Why? Because HH was the best QB in the country based on his play and he couldn't even get an invite. JM would have to throw for 50 TD's and no interceptions to get in the conversation from the clowns known as Heisham voters.

They’ll probably downplay our wins and intentionally put the wrong graphics on the screen - like when they called Peyton a national champion.

Milton will also have to beat the refs in Tuscoloser, because we know the SEC wants to pump up Bama.
I think if he can stay in the win column he might have a chance.

Hendon was within the sniff pre injury of course.

The biggest difference would be overall QBR and low ints that Joe would have a hard time achieving like HH did.

No. I cannot tell you why UT players get shunned by the Heisman. It is even more odd because it happened over such a long period of time. But Manning not winning it going away was ridiculous. Hooker not even being invited to the ceremony was just as bad... all he did was lead the nation's best offense and put up not one but two consecutive years of Heisman worthy numbers.

There is a built in bias against UT players. UT has had great, worthy players over the years and none have won... few have been serious contenders. I'll believe that a Vol can get a fair shake when I see them holding the trophy.

Disclaimer- The Heisman is the most ridiculous of all college awards and trophies. It is almost pure politics so I'm less "upset" than others that the Vols have been snubbed.

We need to slow down on that, I’m still not 100% sold on him.. I need to see him be more consistent before we start talking about the Heisman. The guy has unbelievable potential, but can he stay consistent. We really need him to have a good year.
.
Ask Clemson how good they think he is. He probably has more respect there than on this board.

Short answer is no. I mean it’s within the realm of possibility but chances are slim.

Only if he is willing to run the ball more. It is obvious that he is very hesitant to run. In my opinion this area is what we will miss the most not having Hooker !

If a UT player is holding the Heisman, ESPN or somebody will pull a Steve Harvey on them and take it away.

YES, only IF we knock off either UGA or Bama and go 11-1.
Not trying to burst your bubble but the winner this year was on a 3 loss USC team. They lost their bowl to Tulane.

All Heisman voters would remember if UT went 11-1 with wins over UGA and Bama... would be the one loss. Hooker's "Heisman moment" was a 5 TD game vs Bama with that final drive punctuating it. Who else had a moment that great? No one. But did the voters remember?

So many speculative questions for which the answers are obvious. Of course he could; the possibility is there as it wlll be for a large
number of skill players at big, winning programs--and all will depend on how his and the team's season goes. Nothing more than that
can be said. The odds are against any one player winning that award against a big field of competitors, but the possibility is there.
