We would have to beat either Georgia or Alabama and finish with atleast 10 wins in the regular season and atleast have the number that hooker had.. my personal opinion he would have to have better numbers.. that’s a lot to ask of Milton tho so I’m still in the wait and see approach before I get on the heisman hype train!! Does he have the tools to be able to be in the heisman race, absolutely!! It’s up to Milton mentally if he is able to put those numbers and wins together tho.Joe obviously has all the physical tools to make every throw on the field. We saw his improved development in the Orange Bowl. He is in the greatest offense in college football.
What kind of numbers and how far does this team have to go to get Milton #1 on those ballots?
I say we need to make the SEC championship game, be in the top 3, and he needs to hit 4,000 with 35+tds before the Championship game. My understanding is that the ballots are cast before conference championships, so he needs to hit those numbers in 12 games. That would average out to 334 ypg and 3 tds.
You might say those are high standards compared to some past winners, but we know the Heisman voters never want a UT guy to make it, so Milton needs to be that much better than the competition. It would help for Caleb Williams to lose a game or two mid season to slow his momentum. The good news is uga won’t have a walkon starting next year so they won’t get the feel-good-story vote for a mediocre qb. Heup just needs to keep Milton in the games long enough to hit those numbers when we’re rolling other teams.
What do y’all think? What’s Milton’s path to the Heisman?
I’d prefer he end up a top 5 NFL draft pick, which would do more to boost our recruiting and is more likely to boot.

All need to do is throw 70 TDs, rushed for 1,000 yards, and 0 INTs...how hard is that?
He does need work on that, but I wouldn't say Hendon was exceptional at all. Hooker took several sacks here. Like that was probably his biggest weakness. Holding onto the ball too long.I think he needs to really improve his decision making. Learn when to run vs throwing it away and not taking a sack. Hooker was exceptional at this.
Agree 100%.He does need work on that, but I wouldn't say Hendon was exceptional at all. Hooker took several sacks here. Like that was probably his biggest weakness. Holding onto the ball too long.
I wonder if that has something to do with the coaching they get from Heup.
I'll take it from both of them. Better than forcing a pass and throwing a pick. Joe isn't the scrambler Hendon was, but he isn't awful at it. He'll Crack a few next year.
You’re right. I meant more so on knowing when to take off. There was a few times in the Clemson game where Milton had an easy first down if he just scrambled. Instead he just stood there. He does need work on that, but I wouldn't say Hendon was exceptional at all. Hooker took several sacks here. Like that was probably his biggest weakness. Holding onto the ball too long.
