All TN had to do was beat USCe. But instead they allowed some drama to divide the team and take focus off of the big prize (CFP). Woulda, coulda, shoulda. They should’ve beat the team they were favored to beat by 22.
Is a loss the deciding factor?
Bama has 2 losses, Tennessee was one of them (who beat them) and Tennessee beat the other team who beat Bama.
Tennessee has a better strength of schedule
Tennessee has better wins
Tennessee has a better road win
Tennessee has the head to head
Tennessee certainly had a terrible loss…….however what does “Bama”…….themselves have “over” Tennessee?
Tennessee lost 2 games, other than those 2 Tennessee was ahead by 17 points or more at some point in every other game this season but 1 (the Pitt game).
Bama literally won 3 games where it came down to the wire…….the literal last second.
Tennessee didn’t have a bunch of those. The Florida game was close at the end but with like 5 minutes to go Tennessee was ahead by 17…………they needed miracles just to make it close.
Seems pretty black and white to me. If Bama gets in and we do not, we should absolutely rise up and do something. Some say it’s not possible, I say Greg Schiano.
We are eliminated on basis of 2 losses and media bias. Accept and move on…First off, yes i know, the stain of the USCe loss will be a difficult one to overcome, but can the right chips fall into place to jump the Vols over Bama?
Utah, beating USC knocks them out. Keep in mind Florida beat Utah and we in turn beat Florida, Bama can't claim this.
Clemson beats UNC, propping up Clemson and in turn USCe, making our loss perhaps look somewhat less terrible.
UGA beats LSU which diminishes our win, yes, but makes Bama's loss look a little worse.
It's all minor things, and if TCU and USC win It's all moot anyway. Not to mention if the committee will even take this all into account, but it's interesting to think about. It's also great to be having playoff possibilities talk on championship weekend!!!
Banks was late for a few practices and meetings. Scuffles happen in practice all the time, and whether that did or did not happen, it would not have led to his suspension.Did Jeremy Banks immature tantrum keep UT from playing for a Natty?
