Can we pump the brakes on the meltdown over QB play please?

Emanuel Moseley played QB in high school, so if a former DB like Nick Marshall can lead Auburn to the NC game then I say lets see what Moseley can do.

Biggest problem with our Qbs is the fact that they continuously attempt to throw to the spot where the receiver should be in the progression. In order to be successful a Qb needs to read the the defenders position, anticipate where the defender cannot make a play, and throw the receiver open. JMO.

The quarterbacks on Tennessee's roster are struggling with accuracy against air. Can't really argue that right now. I'm sure they will improve during camp but I don't have any confidence in a quarterback that needs a month of practice to be accurate throwing the ball. All of the quarterbacks have had accuracy problems since they've been at Tennessee. It's not likely that those problems will suddenly go away in a few more weeks. They are what they are at this point, and quarterback play will not good this year.

Now, Tennessee has weapons at the skill positions that will help make the quarterbacks look better than they are (see North bailing Worley out last year vs. SC), but that position will struggle. That's not saying that it will prevent Tennessee from having some sort of success and I expect a bowl game this year, but anyone that thinks having concerns now is unreasonable is being obtuse.

Struggling against air? Do you see the interference they are receiving being hit during, before, and after they throw? Jesus, are you blind? OK stud how would you fair under this pressure? So so easy to ridicule someone doing something you could NEVER DO!

Thanks. I don't see it as negative and I don't have a negative outlook on the team this season. I'm more optimistic than I've been in several years. I love all the young talent but that doesn't change the fact that the quarterbacks are underwhelming.

Biggest complaint I have about what little I have seen in the videos is they are consistently underthrowing balls that cannot afford to be short and overthrowing balls that they cannot afford to be long on.

Both of those will result many interceptions. Again that is just from limited viewing but it seems to the consensus according to those watching practice. I hope they get it fixed, but you would think throwing against air defending a receiver and no pass rush would be much easier than the opposite.

Practice is about finding out strengths and weaknesses. This staff will stay away from the qbs weakness.

I was just messin. And yes, they are underwhelming but they are what we have for now. Hopefully it won't take until October for Worley to find his groove, especially with all this receiving talent.

Awesome job of welcoming another skeptic to the fold freak. And just what is the limit on our ignore list?

I'm not allowed to ignore people so I wouldn't know. :)

The quarterbacks have been terrible to this point, that's just reality. It doesn't mean they won't play well this season when the lights come on, but it's where we are early on after week one.

No worries, I'm not a person that's gonna get worked up and angry on a message board. I'm hopeful Worley can just complete the easy short to mid-range throws, as I suspect the coaching staff won't ask him to make very difficult passes unless absolutely necessary. I'm quite confident that the receivers will be able to adjust and catch some of the less accurate throws, just need to hope they aren't so off target that the DBs have a play on it. I feel like the running game will be solid and look for that to ease some more of the pressure off whoever the QB is, although I figure it will be Worley.

Not sure what post you're refering to but there's a whole lot of middle ground between destroying a kid and discussing the video and info we have from practice. They're not mutually exclusive.

And while I congratulate you on your football career it doesn't really mean much in a forum where ridiculous reigns supreme.

Overall though I agree... we have a few around here who need to back away from the ledge.

LOL, and I guess you can do better? How many practices have you seen Freak? Are you there counting balls thrown? Are you there juding the timing of routes, the speed of the turns to the ball? NO....... let me say it again..... NO... you get your info like I do except I get it from former vols that KNOW me.....

Because I disagree with you I expect I'm doomed to be banned, but before you form an opinion WATCH what you see and THEN Talk about it..... FOOLISH is the word that comes to mind

You get the ultimate ignore option, aka the permaban.

I agree, you are foolish. Why mouth off when you can accomplish more through mutual respect. Guess that would be too easy and proper. Act a fool if it makes you feel good about yourself, but don't be surprised when you're treated as such.

Practice #6 friend........ a lot of practices between now and then to shake the rust off, get in a rhythm, and get it corrected.

This is not practice #6 for Worley and Dobbs. This is Worleys SR year, he hasn't shown us anything yet so I doubt he does. Dobbs was our starter half of last year and has been healthy and still isn't showing us much. Peterman is the only one that should be claiming rust as an issue due to missing all of last year. I'm sure hoping whichever QB starts will do an adequate job, regardless of who it is.
