Can you IMAGINE CPF demanding a celebration penalty?

Dennis Erickson is the most underrated college football coach of the last quarter century. Everyone laughed when I said they'd be 8-0. They're not laughing now.

No there not. That guy should get coach of the year. JMO..

Sending the whole team onto the field may have pumped his team up, but it was a little bush league; especially for a guy knocking his team 2 weeks ago for excessive celebration.
so very true, what's up with that?go figure.

Richt is a good coach, but it's a little comical watching people's amnesia about CPF owning Mark Richt lately.

I think it was a stupid move. The guys didn't need anymore firing up. Maybe instead of excessive celebration, he should have talked to them about not getting a ton of personal fouls.

What happens if they celebrate like that, then Florida rattles off 40 unanswered? Richt looks like a jackass that can't control his team.

Should coaches let individual players celebrate in the endzone? I mean, it gets the guys fired up, and only costs them 15-30 yards....

I don't see any reason why Ga wouldn't be fired up already in the biggest game of their season, with ANY hope of winning the SEC on the line.

Maybe we should go stomp on opposing teams logos after our first score...it's not unsportsmanlike if it gets them fired up....right?

good post and your right, that is a bad way to get your team pumped up.Just as GaVol said,it was kinda stupid for Richt to slam his team after the Vandy game and then allow them to run out on the field after they scored on Florida.

I just don't see how rolling the dice and making stupid coaching decisions that have a poor chance of success, but happen to work is a sign of a good coach.

Not to go off subject, but Les Miles is an idiot for the calls he makes. Richt stood to either be remembered as some ballsy coach getting his team fired up, OR an idiot that rubbed it in and woke up the sleeping giant.

Saban in the UT-Bama game did that onside kick. If that doesn't work and we score, then bama fans would be ready to send him packing. However, because it worked, he's a genius and they're so happy to have a coach like that.

Anyone can be stupid and lucky.

Mark Richt now goes down in the infamous annals of rogue leaders who instructed their teams to cheat.

...sort of like the guy in Karate Kid that told Johnny to "sweep the leg".

AJC:

Richt, Dogs not 'trying to disrespect anybody' | ajc.com

Some people have tried to compare it to what happened at Vanderbilt," Richt said.

The two couldn't be more different, he said.

"To me stomping on the logo at the end of a game that is a slap in the face and an act we don't expect and don't want," Richt said. "This was a decision that was made to sacrifice 15 yards."

Now will we see high school and pee wee league teams emulate their heros to "pump up" there teams? Will it be sportsman like then or just good coaching?

Put him in a body bag Johnny.

I would hardly call that cheating by the way.

LIO he is doing great. He was still giving me grief today about how we still lost to UT. I told him to just let me enjoy one day this year.:)
